| Somerville Spartans (4-4) 102.61 over Toronto Argonauts (5-3) 99.55 The Spartans pick up a big one here by beating the conference rival. Toronto did miss out on some big production on his bench which ultimately cost the game. After the game, ownership took complete blame for the loss saying, "That loss is specifically on me, because I benched two players - either of whom could've given me the win." The only good news for the Argonauts is they will stay on top of their division, but now have the Bandits just one game behind them after their win. The Spartans, on the other hand, are still tied with Pat's Dynasty for the division lead and are finding it difficult to separate from the pack. This is the first week in a while where there are 4 top teams have been separated from the rest of the hopefulls. Anal at Bandcamp (6-2) 97.80 over N.E. Chowderheads (4-4) 69.48 AABC's consecutive win streak inside the division extends to 20 dating back to Week 1 of the first week of the season. This week was a tough one with starting QB Carson Palmer still out and backup Kyle Orton on a bye week, but the Campers prevailed due to Brian Westbrook's nearly 30 points. Meanwhile the Chowderheads are fading away with their fourth loss of the season. A couple scattered 11's and 10's won't beat the big powerhouse and this squad needs Reggie Bush back as soon as possible to have any shot at a Wild Card spot. The Chowderheads now trail in the Wild Card by two games. Vilma=God (6-2) 95.05 over Mill Creek Bulldogs (3-5) 65.76 Vilma got the job done this week playing out of conference to keep pace with AABC and the Stewies while getting further ahead of the Chowderheads and Hotsauce. Currently Vilma leads the race for the second Wild Card spot, just behind in points to the Stewies. That lead this week was extended to two games which creates a nice cushion for a franchise hoping for their first playoff berth. Meanwhile, the Bulldogs appear to be pretenders as they fall to 3-5 but not all hope is lost. They are only 1 game out of a Wild Card spot and if AP and Peyton can play like the can, then they could come out of nowhere. El Paso Bandits (4-4) 71.57 over Denver Roncos (7-1) 67.19 The Bandits finally get things back together and beat the previously undefeated (but decimated) Denver Roncos. The 71 point "explosion" was led by Phillip Rivers' 21 points for which the Roncos answered with 25 from Roddy White, but missing a starting QB (Romo) to injury and both starting RB's and two starting WR's all to byes pretty much spelled defeat before the first snap. The win puts the Bandits in a tie with just Pat's Dynasty for the top Wild Card spot and the Argonaut loss puts them back in play for the division. As for the Roncos, they still have a 1 game lead over the Wild Card contenders and the Stewies. This game is without a doubt the exeption to the Ronco's season. Don't expect anything even around 70 again. Patriot's Dynasty (4-4) 113.18 over Pirates (2-6) 68.80 This was a statement game for the Pat's Dynasty, plain and simple. A loss would have dropped this team into a tie with the Pirates and kept the playoff hopes of the Pirates alive. Instead, they beat up on the Pirates with the help of 40+ points from the London game. Meanwhipe, the Pirates are now pretty much out of the race and looking at the #3 pick of the draft next year. Only Jay Cutler has been good this year for the defending AFC champs, but the rest of the team has failed to pick up the slack. Capt Acorn (4-4) 99.07 over Columbus Liquid Courage (3-5) 60.07 The Captain broke out this week thanks to a huge Monday night from Dallas Clark, but they didn't even need it beating the slumping Liquid Courage. Acorn moves into a tie for 3rd place in the Wild Card with Hotsauce and the Chowderheads, both of which they trail in points. Meanwhile, the Liquid Courage is down and just about out trailing by a game and behind in points to the Bandits and Pat's Dynasty. With the team struggling, ownership has placed everyone on the block and apparently intends to rebuild. The CLC has averaged around 60 points in since week 4 with a 1-4 record over that span (the one win being a close victory over the Gappers). Flaming Stewies (6-2) 143.81 over Hotsauce (4-4) 72.49 The hottest team in the league ran into a buzzsaw this past week as Hotsauce's four game win streak ended at the hands of their division rival. Since scoring 43 points just two weeks ago, the Stewies have been on a tear, scoring 265 points in two weeks which gives them the lead in total points. Hotsauce had a lot riding on this game this week as a win would have tied them for the second Wild Card spot but instead they are stuck with the Chowderheads and Capt Acorn at 4-4, two games behind the second Wild Card spot. Hotsauce has a shot at getting back into the race next week with a big matchup against the N.E. Chowderheads. Georgia Gappers (1-7) 48.39 over Kellens Kunt Krushers (1-7) 43.06 The Gappers picked up their first win under new ownership, narrowly beating the Krushers. This matchup was by far the worst matchup this week as both teams failed to break 50 points. In fact, 7 other teams in the league outscored the combined total of this matchup as the Gappers have to be thankful they met the Krushers at the right time. Don't be surprised if these teams both finish 1-12. |
