Best personal bike accident photo. Stewart W: A car turned right in front of me without looking. My brand new Honda Goldwing was only six weeks old! (25 years ago)
Hard
luck story. In 2004 I rode my bike from Mareeba, North Queensland to Geelong, Victoria and back. At the end of the first day I stopped in Bowen where the sole of my right boot came unstuck. As it was a Sunday there wasn’t much I could do except buy a tube of ‘Quick Grip’ from the servo and stick it together. Due to a lack of baggage space this was the only footwear I had. Also due to an extremely tight budget and I mean tight, there was no way that I could replace these boots before I got home 2 weeks later. So every night I would get out the ‘Quick Grip’ and restick the sole for the next day. Occasionally it would need a restick at lunch time as well. 3 tubes and 2 weeks later I was home. Tip: Carry a tube of ‘Quick Grip’ just in case (or buy new boots before you leave on a long trip). Tony from Queensland Best Rat Bike - No entry this year Thank you to everyone who sent in photos and stories. We look forward to your participation again next year! |
