The man in the light grey suit.

Continuation of the story ‘The man in the light grey suit’.

My results very slowly improved. My birds got better and I dropped the old fashion training methods I was using as a kid in Holland .

I always look forward for the racing season to start and I am just as happy when the season is over.

When I just started out my neighbour was an Englishman who loved to drink a beer or two.

I knew when he was feeling happy he would come over in my backyard and he would say: “Tommy how are you doing with your damn seagulls”

It had no purpose to explain to the man that I was getting fed-up with his seagull story.

But one day one of my birds paid him back.

John worked as an accountant for the government and he was always impeccable dressed.

This morning he stepped out of the door in his ‘light grey suit’.

One of my birds (a big checker cock) was locked out on the widowhood system. His favorite spot: Top of the neighbour’s roof, right at the corner.

I saw it all happen: The cock turned around and put his droppings all over John’s back! I needed help quickly. I said to John “just a moment, I want you to talk to my wife”.

I called her and when she came outside she knew what had happened and what to do. She put her arm very carefully around John’s shoulder and took him in the house to the kitchen to clean the back of his suit. John came outside again after about five minutes. He said to me? “Tommy your wife has an excellent way of cleaning my suit but you must still take better care of those seagulls”!!

This picture was painted in 1870. In the basket you will find several birds still being used as breeders by some members of the North Wings Club. I am scared to use names!
