Here are some buildings that I made out of a thin sheet of wood that I found in a dumpster at a place that makes roof shingles. I think it was actually a layer from a piece of plywood that peeled off. Luckily for me I have a friend that lives down the street from me that has a wood shop in his backyard. I cut all the pieces out with a bandsaw, sanded them a little bit, then glued them together with some wood glue. The water tower (ball on a stick) was just some scrap wood my friend let me have. The stick is a piece of dow rod and the ball was some kind of knob for a door or something. After the glue dried I spray painted them with a 98cent can of gray primer from Wal Mart. Then I hand painted them in the Santa Fe yellow and blue colors. I'm going to try and print the Santa Fe logo on my computer and trace it on carbon paper on the buildings and then paint the tracing. I'll update the pictures when I do.

All these building will go in the train yard. The big one is a three stall train car maintainence building that will have tracks running all the way through it and out the back and stop at some bumpers, the two smaller ones are warehouses, and the smallest one is a pump house that sits at the bottom of the water tower. These buildings dont require a lot of detail so they were pretty easy to make. I'll probally still make a few more building with the wood I have. I think I'm going to try and make an old church and a barn and maybe an old farm house, too.

Well, I said I was going to try and put the Santa Fe logo on the buildings but decided to put my NTR logo on them instead. Here is the railcar maintainence building and the water tower with the logo on them. I printed the logo on my computer in black and white and traced it on a piece of carbon paper on the maintainence building and then painted it. I freehand drew the logo on the water tower and painted it. Also, I've added a loading dock to the side of the maintainence building.

This building is a Station, Shed, Gift Shop, & Museum which was going to house my consolidation steam train for the NTR Scenic Route.
I printed the roof, windows, doors, and Great Northern logo on my computer then cut them out and glued them on the building.
The track will go in this door to the other end of the building and the train will back into the building and just fit inside the door where it can be loaded with passengers
