This ranks the teams according to how I like them, not how good they are.  If you don't like my rankings, then go make your own.

Dallas is my favorite team. Actually the Minnesota North Stars are my favorite team, but when they moved cities I moved with them.  Steve Payne became a Star in the late 1970s, and this is when I became a fan.

Go Stars Go!
I lived in Ottawa when they were awarded the franchise, so it was pretty exciting at the time.  It was a rough first few years being a fan of the Sens, but now it is pretty good.  I think (not going out on much of a limb here) that they should win the big trophy this year.  If you don't know what I mean by "the big trophy", get off my page.
The league began to get pretty big in the mid-90s, so I figured I would pick up a new team.  I saw a t-shirt for the Blue Jackets on a clearance table in a sports store, so I picked it up and started pulling for the team.  This team is in bad shape right now, but this is a franchise that is easy to like because they have great support and they try to run things right.
I wouldn't call myself a fan of the 'Canes', but just hanging around my friend Matt makes me hope that they win games.  It makes Matt happy, and that makes me happy.  Similar to my North Star situation, Matt is actually a Hartford Whaler fan.
Preds, I don't know.
I like them more since they got rid of Roy.  Sakic is a great player who just plays, so that is a good thing.  And who didn't like the Nordiques?
I don't really know what it is that I like about LA, maybe it is the Gretzky days, maybe the pleasant thoughts of the old purple and yellow uniforms.
Tampa Bay has a lot of good players that are fun to watch.  I even started liking Andrechuk once he ended up in Tampa.  I wouldn't mind if they won again.
The Wings will drop once Yzerman is gone.
I have always sort of liked the Rangers, I think I really like their uniforms.  Plus they had Gretzky for a while.
Probably shouldn't have a team in this city, but I like there light blue third jerseys.
Chicago has the same uniforms that my minor hockey team did, so that is cool.
With Gretzky as coach, you have to give them something.  And at least they improved their logo and uniforms.
I don't really like these guys all that much, I used to like them more.  I do think that Bobby Clark deserves a little more credit for being a solid GM.
I don't like the Islanders any more, I did during their glory days of the early 1980s.  But now they have Milbury who traded for Yashin and gave up Spezza and Chara - dumbass!
I don't know why I don't like the Oilers much anymore, they are Canadian and once had Gretzky.  They even have Ryan Smyth who I like.  But for some reason I just don't like these guys.
I think with Bertuzzi this team lost a little bit from me.  If they went back to their blue and green 70s uniforms I would like them better.  And the way the fired Burke was just stupid.
The Sharks raped the North Stars back in '91.
I used to like this team, everyone used to love their red, white and blue uniforms with the stars on them.  But now that they have sold off their team they suck.  Maybe in a few years, if they give Ovechkin a supporting cast, I will like them again.
I don't mind the ducks, I don't mind their logo.  I think they take too much flack about their name and logo, but it is no worse than some other teams, see the Penguins.
I dislike Calgary - they were overrated last year in the playoffs.  Just because you make it to the finals does not make you a good team.  You can name a ton of bad teams that have been in the finals.  They said last year that everyone in Canada was pulling for Calgary in the final.  Not true, I wasn't.
I have to drop the Bruins a bit after that Thornton trade.  These guys are so cheap and it seems like they aren't even trying anymore.
This team is just a mess.  If they could ever seem to do something right I might like them more.
New Jersey is a lot less likeable without Stevens or Niedermayer.  I guess they still have Brodeur.  But a decade of boring hockey has made me a little bitter towards them.
Not the real Minnesota.  I don't like their coach either.

Go Stars!
Buffalo - they play in Buffalo!
I have never been a fan of Mario.  This is why they are so low.  Also, they spent a lot of money on crap this year.  At least they have Sid.
I think Montreal is a team that you either have to love or hate.  And I don't love them.
I have never liked the Blues.  I used to hate Brett Hull, so this is probably why.  And Khachuk is a goof.
I don't like the Leafs and this is why:  In the mid-80s the Leafs and the North Stars were the worst two teams in hockey.  They used to fight for the last playoff spot in the old Norris division.  Since the Stars were so bad I had to cheer against the Leafs every night in hopes that they would finish worse.  Then the Leaf fans used to get on me about cheering against the Leafs, so it just continued.
