25/07/04:

This week sees the visit of unbeaten Annerley to O'Callaghan Park on Friday night, kick-off 6.30pm. Our Re-arranged game against Centenary United has been set for Friday 6th August, possibly at Perry Park.

22/07/04:

Two goals in a minute, ten minutes into the second half of tonight's game, saw North Star come away from Ipswich with a 2-0 win over the Black Knights. Both goals were the result of perfect corners from Pete Martin who found the head of Milko on each occasion.

The win ensures that North Star will play in the end of season Grand Finals play-offs starting on the weekend of 13th August.

15/07/04:

Centenary United have requested the postponement of tomorrow nights game against North Star because of a depleted squad through players being unavailable or injured.

05/07/04: Who could this be? This pic was sent to me by the goalkeeper of my old team in New Zealand, Kaiapoi Town AFC . Apparently he found it on a UK soccer website, funnily enough whilst I was over in the UK earlier this year.

02/07/04:

Ten minutes into tonight's game at home to Taringa Rovers and North Star were two goals up. Thanks to a header, almost as good as Michael McEvoy's last week, by Pete Martin from Matt's superb cross from the right. Soon followed by an awesome dipping shot from the edge of the area by James. Midway through the first half Taringa pulled one back following some slack North Star defending.

The start of the second half saw North Star denied a third goal, despite the ball being a metre over the goal line, and from then on the game turned into a scrappy affair with plenty of off the ball incidents which eventually saw both sides reduced to ten men. Eight minutes from time North Star put the game beyond Taringa's reach when Milko was brought down inside the area and keeper Kevin Duvall promptly stepped up and buried the penalty in the back of the net. The score remained 3-1 until full time.

01/07/04:

Sorry for the lack of reports on the site this season but I missed the start of the season as I was overseas and have been pretty busy at work and at home since returning.

The team has done very well so far, managing to give Mitchelton a good run for 2nd place, both of us on 23 points and only 2 goals in it.

Last week saw mixed fortunes - our catch up game against Kenmore Lions on Monday night saw us go down 5- 0 at O'Callaghan Park. On Friday night the team traveled to Kenmore hoping to avoid another hiding. A superb performance by all the guys saw us go into the break 2-0 up thanks to goals from Kev Douglas and Mick McEvoy. Kenmore came out a lot stronger in the second half but despite converting a disputed penalty, could not penetrate the rock solid North Star defence and we came away with a great 2-1 victory.
