The election results are in. They are posted on the Northridge website.
Much to my surprise, Northridge is split right down the middle for and against electing a HOA board of directors, with those opposing the election having a slight edge.
I still don't see any solution to the problems which currently plague us or the ones that lie ahead us, but Northridge has spoke. The majority has ruled for the status quo so I, for one, will honor the results of the democratic process.
I'm going to be very intested in how the majority will handle the first real crisis that comes upon us all as a community. I figure that since they have rejected the one solution that has been proposed, it will fall to them to find the solution and provide the leadership necessary.
I wonder what the first crisis will be that the majority will face?
-Will the Town stop maintaining the entrance-way medians as they have threatened? Without watering or maintenance how long will it take for them to deteriorate to the point of being an eye-sore, to turn potential home buyers off?
-When will the ditch company get fed-up with not being allowed to burn out the ditch by the Town and start suing everyone in sight to get the ditch properly maintained, including every Northridge property owner?
-When will some neighbor trying to sell their house be informed by a potential buyer that the only reason that they have decided not to buy is the condition of some neighbor's property due to noncompliance with the covenants, or simply because there is no HOA? Will that homeowner decide to sue that neighbor, or everyone in Northridge because their is no HOA?
-Will some kid get hurt, drowed or snake bit on Northridge public land resulting in parential lawsuits against everyone who might be liable, including every Northridge property owner?
-Will some group of neighbors get so vexed by the condition of some other neighbor's property that they will band together and sue that neighbor under the legal and binding provisions of the contract know as the covenants?
-Will a 100 yr flood desvistate most of the Northridge because the Town has not gotten around to fixing the surface water drainage problems?
