| Note: During this column I will be referring to we and I and us in the point of view of Yogeshs 11, which is of course the team I represent. So expect a bit of byes on my behalf, loll.My columns are usually controversial I tell it like it is, but its my opinion and not the opinion of the team I represent, so no one should take it personally. In certain occasions I have hidden certain names from this column to protect privacy.
Hasans Take Brief Intro Well, after a long absence (final year of uni) I have decided to bring Hasans Take back again one time only!! I know there are many fans that have missed my take on the football action and the regular previews between NFA All Stars and the G-Unit a.k.a the boyz or mck cru. After months of preparation and verbal banta between the Hitens 11 and Yogeshs 11, we finally got the match under way on the 14th of April 2006. This match had a very unique build up and aspect to it, this is because, this time round Yogeshs 11 were going into the match as the title holders and the challengers were Hitens 11. This differs from the past encounters were Hitens 11 were always classed as the outright favourites so they had this psychological edge over us and we almost felt like we had lost the match already before we had even started the game. We have lost so many times to Hitens 11 that I have personally lost count as to the current score of the series between the both of us, its probably in the region of 5 games to 1, and of course that memorable victory we recorded over them will never be forgotten and no doubt the players will be classed as legends for years to come. Match Report The match got under way at North Greenford football pitch and the conditions were reasonably good considering the typical spontaneous shitting down of rain we usually get during the April months here in Greenford. There was also a very frustrating delay to the proceedings as Hitens 11 had a few players that arrived about 20 minutes late. Hitens 11 also had a few key players missing from their line up these were Arber, and their goalkeeper (whose name escapes me right now), but he is good. The first 20 minutes or so Hitens 11 dominated in terms of attacking possession and they tested our right wing back chris charles on a number of occasions, however Chris had his work cut out and he dealt with it accordingly. We was very rusty at the start of play, this might have been due to lack of match practice together with a confidence problem especially with the defence. I (Hasan) had a reasonably poor first half as my passing was not up to scratch, this is credit to the NFA forwards as they adopted an area press strategy which means they was trying to force our defence into making mistakes and narrowing our options to pass. A confusion also occurred with the defence and midfield as this new wing back role was not very clearly defined and it is maybe too much to ask for Anish and Terry to play this system, even the top footballers in the world find it hard to adopt a wing back system, so as a result of this Anish and Terry found them selves caught in between helping the midfield and helping the defence, and one could not help but feel sorry for them, as mistakes were going to be inevitable. Hitz 11 scored a great goial with Andrews strike which jay had absoletoly no chance and even peter Peter Schmeical at his best would have his work cut out, this was an important goal for Hitz 11 and they started the first half really well byt scoring two goals. We hit back jus before half time as our creative trio in midfield of yogehs, amar and azad started to supply Vikesh with fantastic through balls which lead to our goal! IT WAS GAME ON! Sadlyby the start of the second half this did not last long. Hitz 11 proved yet again that finishing plays a key role in football, they took their chances,, poor mistakes by the defence and the midfield, there was a communication problem with certain goals that went in the second half. By than we had nearly lost hope,, you can see the faces on the players on the pitch for Yogeshs 11, they could tell a thousand stories. Unfortunatly our misery does not end there yes there is more a communication error by our left centre back and left wing back, let in another simple goal by which the game had almost gone beyond us now. One of our strikers reacted negatively to this error and an argument started. This damaged team morale,, it was almost childish! and embarrassing considering the opposition were younger than us.., cannot even get along one starts to ask him self WHATS HAPPENED TO SPORTSMANSHIP? WHATS HAPPENED TO PLAYING IN THE PARK WITH FRIENDS AND ENJOYING A GOOD DAY OUT.. BUT more importantly We are here to play football! And thats what should happen! Its not a playground for political pride its a football match for crying out loud!.. If we had all our 11 players focused on one goal, I have no doubt we have the capability to be better than Hitz 11, so dont get me wrong! We have the players, strong midfield, strong attack Alex tall, Vikesh scores goals,,, Amar and Yogz passion in midfield, Azads creativity.. Solid defence with Rob, aka Mr Consistency, me, Chris, Anish and Terry solid and passionate, and Jay at the back. If there is a weakness its probably our goalkeeper, I almost feel sorry for Jay because he is not trained to be a keeper, so he has a hard job. But he performed well, and made few fantastic saves. I could write forever and all day about this match. But the most important thing here is that Hitz 11 deserved to win and congratulationsand what stays on the PITCH,, STAYS ON THE PITCH. We will come back stronger, better,, and with more unity, We will fight another Day. My names Hasan Awada. |
