About Us
Tri Sigma Sisterhood is a lifetime experience.  Faithful Unto Death.
North Jersey Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Sigma Sigma was founded in 1961 to provide Tri Sigma alumnae in New Jersey the opportunity to actively participate in Tri Sigma's  lifelong sisterhood.  Now over forty years later, North Jersey still remains a strong, active alumnae chapter.  There are approximately 50 Sigmas are on our mailing list!
North Jersey prides itself on the dedication and diversity of our membership.  Our members live throughout the northern counties of New Jersey including Bergen, Morris, Somerset, Essex, Sussex, Union, Passaic, and even Middlesex and Monmouth.  We represent collegiate chapters throughout New Jersey and also from other states such as Pennsylvania, Missouri, Wisconsin, and Massachusetts, and even have alumnae initiates.  Members range in age from recent college graduates to seniors, from singles to brides to mothers to mothers of the bride.  There are also a wide variety of careers ranging from education to business to research.  Besides alumnae chapter membership, some are also active in various professional, civic, service, and social organizations, and a few even serve Tri Sigma as Alumnae Advisory Board (AAB) members for local collegiate chapters and as National Officers.  Even though we have varied lives, we all have something in common: our love for Sigma, bonds of sisterhood, and friendship with each other.
North Jersey typically meets once a month September through July on different days and in various locations throughout the northern counties of New Jersey.  The chapter equally balances social and service activities.  Some annual events are a Holiday Party in December, Summer Picnic/Barbeque in July, and Founders Day Celebration in April.  Other examples of monthly events include organizational meetings, potlucks, comedy clubs, NYC museum trips, movie nights, apple/pumpkin picking, pottery painting, hayrides, sporting events, and sisterhood retreats to the Mabel Lee Walton House, our National Headquarters in Woodstock, Virginia.  The chapter supports our national philanthropy, the Sigma Sigma Sigma Foundation/Robbie Page Memorial, through donations and visits to local children's hospitals.  We also participate in and support other local charities.  Every triennium chapter members attend National Conventions and we have been lucky enough to participate in extension presentations, colonizations, and chapter installations at nearby colleges.
North Jersey has been rich with National awards and recognition.  Recent past chapter and individual awards include:
