Harold and Hettie made their way along the path by the garage to have a look at the new arrival.
Tommy had told them about Regans pet lamb. Her name was 'Missy Moo'.
They crept up to her little yellow house. They snuffled around the entrance in hope of getting a better look.

With a bang and a crash 'Missy Moo' flew out to see who was visiting.
Harold and Hettie ran for cover into the long grass.
Tommy arrived to see what all the noise was about. He introduced Missy to the hedgehogs, who could just be seen poking their heads out from the the long grass.
Harold and Hettie cautiously drew near as Missy told her story. She had come from another farm down the road. Her Mum had died giving birth to her. She explained that she was picked up by the farmer and brought here to be given a chance to live, and was to be Regans' pet.
Missy had only been here a short time and was already feeling much better. She absolutely adored Regan and his family. She had even been inside the house apparently. Missy considered herself very lucky to be alive.
Harold, Hettie and Tommy all agreed.
Missy yawned loudly and headed back into her liitle house for some more sleep.
They all said goodnight and went about their business

Two weeks later Tommy informed them of more new arrivals. Bryans' two daughters, Katrina and Hannah had arrived for a holiday. Everyone was delighted to have them come and stay.
The owners of the farm had given the youngest daughter Hannah a calf to look after.
She had named him 'Bucky'.
Unfortunately, Bucky, like  many of the calves born that season, became very sick and weak.
Hoping tio be able to feed him up and help him get well, Hannah presevered with Bucky, but to no avail.
Harold asked the question that everyone wanted to know the answer to..."Why didn't they give her a healthy calf to look after?"
Tommy just looked away in disgust, his tail flicking in annoyance about the whole issue.
About a week later Hannah brought Bucky down to the house. He was so weak by this stage that he couldn't even walk back to the calf shed.
Harold and Hettie decided to visit Bucky.Tommy led the way.
Determined not to wake Missy, they crept past her little house, and through the long grass to where Bucky lay. He opened one eye and looked at them sadly. His breathing was laboured but he managed to lift his head slowly and looked at his visitors.
Harold and Hettie felt very sad for him.
Just then the outside light came on at the house. Harold and Hettie scuttled into the long grass and watched as Bryan came out and tryed to feed Bucky from a bottle. Bucky didn't really have the energy to suck his finger let alone the bottle. Bryan shook his head, and spoke softly to Bucky, saying he really didn't think there was much hope, but he would be back after milking to check on him.
Apparently the girls went home that evening.
Hannah had said her goodbyes to Bucky before she left.

Bucky passed away the next day.
