The Tweed Coast.

0b
The new boom area of the northern rivers is the Tweed Coast where a council of the over-development ilk, or "no amount of concrete is too much", is assisting the spread southwards of the ugliness of the Gold Coast. Which is not too surprising since that is where their political compatriots also rule. Not a difficult trick to stay in power since the area is a gerontologists dream.

There are parts of this region that are very beautiful so visitors should try and see them before they are swallowed up by the aforesaid concrete. West of the highway some forest roads offer great scenery towards the caldera of Mount Warning and one comes across many a verdant wonderland in such places as the farms along the old Wooyung road.

The pottery at Stokers Siding, the various tourist traps can offer a few hours pleasure, one can even get seaplane rides at South Tweed.

Finding places along the northern rivers' coastline that are still relatively untouched by the carpetbaggers is no longer easy. But not impossible. So I wish you luck. So don't procrastinate. Check out Brunswick Heads, Federal, Sleepy Hollow, Uki. A few blinks later and it may all be gone.
