| Flare Real Name: Alex Richardson Height: 6 foot 0 Weight: 230 lbs Hometown: Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Theme Music: Sleep Now in the Fire by Rage Against the Machine Appearance: Though his lighter than average build packs as much muscle as possible, Flare is still a touch on the smaller side with regards to height and weight. Obviously dyed, his hair is a bright, fiery orange, cut short and kept 'stylishly messy'. Tribal patterned tattoos lick over his shoulders and down his arms, colored in vivid reds, oranges, and yellows. His face is boyishly good looking, with high cheekbones, slightly angular eyebrows, a wide, easy to smile mouth, and large blue eyes. Ring Attire: Out of the ring, Flare nearly always wears a Matrix-style black leather longcoat with stylized flames licking up the back, an iridescent orange shirt, black slacks, and orange-tinted shades. When in the ring, Flare wears full-length black tights, boots, and elbow pads which are all done up in the fire on black motif. Flare is also noted for carrying a fire carved walking cane as his weapon of choice. Personality/Gimmick: Insufferably arrogant is the easiest way to sum up Flare, though his overtly enthusiastic and goofy attitude is a better way of differentiating him from other wrestlers. Still a complete rookie by industry standards, Flare has an impressive list of wins and titles and never, ever lets anybody forget this. More recently, a violent, sinister streak has emerged in Flare - giving him a little more edge and killer instinct in the business, and losing him many, many fans and friends in the meantime. Moveset: Beyond his favorite moveset, Flare tries to wrestle as wide and varied a match as physically possible. Generally, his wrestling style can be described as a mix of everything Flare feels makes good, spectacular wrestling. A firm basis in the traditions of Alberta-style chain wrestling, American light heavyweight, backyard style extreme, Japanese brutality, Mexican flashiness, and some flashy martial arts from his kickboxing training. 10+ moves: Corkscrew plancha, missile dropkick, hurracanrana variations, swandive headbutt, various martial arts kicks, knife-edge chop, dropkick, spinning lariat, calf kick, inverted deathlock, figure four, cross armbar, large variety of release and bridging suplexes, various DDTs, various moonsaults. Trademarks: Heatscore: Catching or grabbing his opponent's leg, Flare hooks it over his shoulder, and then throws his opponent overhead like a belly to belly suplex. This move is a variation on the leg capture suplex and is his setup move for the Fireball. Firebolt: A big flashy superkick, this is Flare's alternate finisher and favorite move. Doesn't score the pin as easily as the Fireball, but a good 'out of nowhere' move. Backdraft: The second most devastating belly to belly suplex in wrestling, modeled after the legendary Calvin Astroth's. Finisher: Fireball: From the top rope, Flare leaps into the air, and performs a 270 backflip, landing solidly on his opponent. Sometimes, he'll use the momentum to drive his knee into their face as well. This is also known as a Shooting Star Press, and Flare claims his is the best in the business. Three Strengths: Resilience: Flare's single-mindedness with regards to coming out on top in all situations has scraped him through many matches he would have otherwise lost. Clinging to nightmares of being forgotten and ignored, he can display incredible endurance and tenacity in his matches. Agility: Although Flare is classified as a borderline heavyweight, he is almost unbelievably agile for his size, and uses this to his advantage at all times. Consequentially, his matches tend to be fast-paced affairs, and his offense gives his opponent very little time to rest. Versatile: Although he is predominantly a high flyer, Flare can mix it up with the best of them in pure mat wrestling, spectacular martial arts battles, hardcore style matches, and sometimes power wrestling. Three Weaknesses: Showoff: Flare's obvious need for attention can be a detriment in the ring, as he will often showboat when unnecessary. Flashy, spectacular moves when a simpler strategy would suffice are also common. Strength: Although Flare has bulked up even more since his heel turn, he is still only a borderline heavyweight. Flare fancies the idea of being able to powerbomb his opponent through the canvas, but that doesn't mean he's doing it to anyone heavier than he is. Foolhardy: Above and beyond his desire for attention, Flare will often let his blind self confidence get ahead of him, causing him to make enemies way beyond his league, or go for extremely dangerous and often unnecessary high spots. More recently, his temper is also a little out of control, and especially vicious fans can cause him to completely lose his cool during a match. MANAGER INFO: Evelyn Sharpe Appearance: A reasonably attractive woman in her mid-thirties, Evelyn sports rather 'Snow White' features, with quite pale skin, and luxurious long brown hair. Most noticeable is her odd pension for dressing like a movie star from the 50's, wearing her hair in a classic wave, and overtly luxurious gowns most of the time. General Info: Evelyn met Flare back in Edmonton while he was feuding with his father, and offered her services as a marketing agent. Quickly realizing that his potential was wasted in Edmonton, she sent him down south to Vegas, where she has worked with him ever since. Since her image is not exactly in the style of NPWomen, and she has no desire for celebrity, she keeps most of her work with Flare behind the camera, and has only been at ringside with him once.
