Rules;

500 Division - 4-H Sheep
Rules:
1. How many animals exhibitor may show:
    a. Beginner (7-8 years old) may show only one animal, no ram lambs.
    b. Junior (9-11 years old) may show no more than four animals, plus one market lamb.
     c. Intermediate (12-13 years old) may show no more than five animals, plus one market lamb.
     d. Senior (14 years old and over) may show no more than six animals, plus one market lamb.
2. Ewe lambs may be shown as either market lambs or breeding sock, but not both.
3. All sheep must be shown using halters.
4. Ram lambs must be registered.

800 Division - 4-H Horse Show
Special Notices:
All special notices for livestoick and 4-H livestock apply to 4-H horse show participants. Alcohol or drugs may not be used or stored in the 4-H barn. Failure to follow this ule will result in ineligibility to show in the the 4-H show.
1. Certificate of current Cogginss (within last 36 months) must be presented to shwo secretary before the show begins.
2. Horse being shown must be listed on a member's signed Animal Approval Form which must be presented to the show secretary.
3. Exhibitors may ride only one horse. Two riders may share one horse as long as it appears on both members' Animal Approval Form and they ride in different categories.
4. Exhibitors may show in only one category (English, Western or Walk-Trot).
5. All exhibitors must enter showmanship and equtation classes. No premiums will be given for these classes, but eachm ember who rides in the classes will receive the Worthy exhibitor premium.
6. Junior exhibitors age 9-13. Senior exhibitors ages 14 and up. Walk trot category is for ridrss who have never shown at canter.
7. 4-H exhibitors must wear an ASTM/SEI approved helmet and proper footwear any time they are mounted on a horse.
8. All grooming, stable work, and show preparation is to be done by the 4-H member. Members may be assisted by other members. Parents or adult volunteers should be present as younger members work to intervene in case of a safety emergency.
9. No stallions.
10. Proper English or Western attire must be worn. Western: boots, pants, long-sleeved Western shirt, tie highly recommeded., no chaps. English: boots, breeches or jodpurs and jacket.
PREREGISTRATION WOULD BE APPRECIATED. ENTRIES MAY BE MAILED TO THE HOULTON EXTENSION OFFICE BY JULY 21, 2004.

Division 10.0 - 4-H Dog Show
Rules:
1. Beginners (ageas 5-8), Juniors (ages 9-11), Interemediates (ages 12-14) may show only one dog. Seniors (ages 15-19) may show 2 dogs. Two dogs may not be shown in the class in obedience.
2. Any sick or unamanagable dog will be dismissed from the show.
3. Leased dogs are allowed, if lease form is filed with the Extension Office by July 1, 2003.
4. Proof of rabies vaccinations and a license are required. Copies of each must be attached to the Animal Approval Form and will be chacked by the show secretary on the day of the show.
5. Beginners (5-8) may show in Showmanship and Fitting, and On-leash Obedience, but not in Off-leash Obedience.
6. Dogs need not be purebred or registered.
7. Exhibitors must use approved equipment.
    a. for Showmanship, use a show collar and lead.
    b. for obedience, a nylon or chain choke collar and a 6 foot lead.
    c. for agility, a standing collar with no tags and an appropriate lead.
8. All dogs msut be at least 6 months old in order to be shown in obedience and showmanshi and must be at least 12 months old in order to compete in agility.
9. No females in season allowed on the fairgrounds.
10. exhibitors will keep thier dogs under control and on leash while on the fairgrounds except when participating in the ring and judging. 4-H dogs permitted in the 4-H dog show area only. dogs may be crated, but never unattended.
