| January 2007 meeting in a nutshell . . . Troop 452 Gold Award Project is to provide books to needy children in the Ramsey county area. "The Alley Shoppe Book Stop" is the name of their project. What can you do to help, you ask? Well, you can bring books (in good condition) to next month's leader meeting or you may contact Emily, 779-6569 or Asha, 773-8121 to schedule a delivery. Annual Giving Challenge starts next month with the Service Team. In March it will be up to the Leaders to meet or beat the amount collected by the Team. Then, in April and May it will be presented to families. Singing Saturday patches are in! Cookies - It's cookie time! Girls may start selling cookies on Saturday, January 13th. NOT BEFORE! All girls must be registered to sell. Cookies will arrive Tuesday 2/20. Katrina will send out an email to let you know times. Girl Scout Derby is January 27, 2007 at St. Peter's in O'Reilley Hall. The workshop is scheduled for January 13 & 14 at the Eichler's. They graciously open their workshop to parents/girls who do not have access to power tools. There will be helpers at each station to assist if needed. Bring a design (available on the internet, search "Pinewood Derby cars") Weigh-in is Friday, 1/26. Cars must weigh 5 ounces (or close to it). Call Sheri at 777-6396 if you have questions. SOMEONE NEEDED TO TAKE POLOROID PICTURES FRIDAY EVENING, CAMERA PROVIDED. Visiting Artist is Saturday, February 10, 2007 at North Presbyterian.. the theme this year is "It's great to be a girl!". Cost is $1.00/girl. Each girl should bring an item for a birthday bag (i.e., cake mix, box of candles, invites, can frosting, little prizes). All items will be donated to Alley Shoppe. Sundae Funday is a small carnival that funds next year's Visiting Artist program. It is open to families, friends and the entire community. Lots of fun for the kids! You may sign-up your troop to run a game. (HINT: sign-up early to get the game of your choice!) Many games available. Everything provided except signage - troops provide signs. Call Joan D. to get more details. 777-4048. Set-up begins at noon, carnival runs from 2 - 4 pm, quick clean up to follow. Court of Awards are right around the corner. Pack 188 (Cowern) Cub Scouts are looking for Girl Scouts who are willing to sell concessions at their Pinewood Derby on Saturday, January 20th. This would be great for girls who are going to be there anyway because their brothers are racing! It will be held at the American Legion in NSP on April 1, 2007 (the date has changed from January 14th), 3:30 - 6:30 pm. Mark you calendars! Help wanted for 2006-07 School Coordinator - St. Peter's Super Cool Seminar committee members (SCS are put on for girls 6th grade and older) Service Unit Manager (in-training) - Joan & Cari need someone to "shadow" them for the remainder of the year.
