John
Fennell was the fourth child of Garrett and Susan Fennell. He was born
on March 20th, 1826 in Delgany Ireland and came to Canada in 1832 with
his family. In 1854 he married Sara Crutchfield (sister to Samuel Crutchfield
who married John's sister, Martha in 1849). They had seven children:

The family lived in a 1 1/2
storey frame house called "Maple Lane" (which is still home to descendants
of the Fennell family today) on 121 acres of land in Huntingdon, Quebec.
Along with wheat, oats, peas and hay, they also produced maple sugar, butter,
honey, wool and apples. Home-made flannel, firewood cleared from the land,
and livestock consisting of horses, cattle, sheep, pigs and honey bees
are also listed in the 1871 census.

John died on June 21st, 1876
at the age of 50. Sarah lived on to be 92 and passed away on June 25th,
