Grandma's Christmas Brown Sugar Sauce

1/2 c brown sugar
1 Tb flour
dash of salt
1 c boiling water
1 Tb butter
1 tsp vanilla

Mix together in a saucepan, the brown sugar, flour and salt. Add boiling water slowly, cook and stir over medium heat until smooth and slightly thickened. Simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and add butter and vanilla. Stir until dissolved and serve hot over hot Carrot Pudding at Christmas.

Serves 6

For family Christmas dinners, double or even triple the recipe!
