Northeastern's professional staff train and recommend foster homes for certification and participate in the placement of children into these foster homes.
   Northeastern has maintained over 250 children in care over the past 6 years. In the year 2000, Northeastern's caring staff helped a high percentage of these children achieve permanency through reunification with birth families or adoption by Northeastern foster families. We are dedicated to identifying and supporting foster parents who enthusiastically nuture children and provide them with the structure they need to grow and flourish.
   Our social work staff actively assist our foster families in implementing permanency planning goals. We serve as liaisons to the custodial agency on behalf of our families as well as full members of the child's treatment team. Our foster families are the heart and soul of Northeastern Professional Family Services. Through communication, training, and monitoring we empower foster families to put forth the extra effort necessary to meet the needs of the children we serve.
We will make every effort to serve children with special medical, therapeutic, or habilitation needs:
     * Down Syndrome
     * Mental retardation
     * Medically fragile
     * Sexual abuse
     * Sexual perpetrator
     * Sibling groups
We are looking toward an increase in our need for foster families in the near future. If you are interested in helping children in need, please contact the agency at
440-930-2442.

If you are interested we will send you a preliminary application. Once we have those returned, the director will contact you to set up a home visit. We are planning to begin the licensing process with an orientation class in October.
