JV-prose, V-prose, Duo, V-Ex, JV-Ex
Events: LD (JV and Varsity), CX. LD TOC at semis
Comments: The annual Columbus Day celebration, sort of. Best food on the local high school circuit (for judges). Housed. Varsity LDers who do not advance may judge JV in break rounds.
Judge requirements:
Travel recommendations: Judges stay at crummy EconoLodge or comparable motel. Bring an alarm clock and your own little shampoo bottles.
Events: LD (7 Prelim Rounds). CX. LD TOC @ Octs.
Comments: National-circuit level competition over three days. Food is an iffy proposition, so bringing a sandwich for dinner on Friday is not a bad idea. It's your sandwich versus their sandwich, and yours will probably be better. Saturday there's enough time to find a meal in beautiful downtown Bronx.
Judge requirements: LD 1-3 ratio.
Events: Varsity LD and CX on Fri-Sat, newcomer novices (CX and LD) on Saturday in the first MHL of the year.
Comments: Tournament Director Bill Barthelme is the guiding spirit of the MHL and NEDCO.
Judge requirements:
LD, CX, Speech. LD TOC @ octos
Comments: Registration must be done by mid-September (limits are set). A popular national-circuit event for Northeasterners.
Dec, Cong
Events: LD, CX. LD TOC @ Quarters.
Comments: Home of the albino bagel! Massachusetts is definitely not New York.
Judge requirements: LD 1-3
Travel recommendations: Everything is booked for Halloween anywhere near Salem, so make your reservations early.

Events: LD and CX (Varsity and Novice). LD TOC @ Semis, CX TOC @ Quarters
Comments: The first 2-day novice event, highly recommended for new students. Housing.
Judge requirements: LD 1-4
JV-EX, V-EX, OO, P/P, Duo, DP
Events: LD (Varsity and JV), CX, IEs LD TOCs @ octs.
Comments: An excellent national-circuit debate tournament. Limited registration. Good tournament hotel, excellent judge-lounge food (at least for LD). The Varsity tournament of choice on this busy weekend.
Restaurants: Mostly franchises and long lines. Look at but don't eat at Ed Debevik's.
Events: Varsity and Novice LD and CX
Comments: A one-day tournament for younger students, with housing available Friday night for people traveling a considerable distance.
Events: IEs, LD, CX
Comments: Primarily a (very competitive) Speech tournament. The LD field is difficult, there's only 4 rounds plus a "Big 32" that does not do justice to the level of competition, plus there's lots of speech judges judging LD rounds.
Travel arrangements: Book early at one of the tournament hotels, or else.
Restaurants: The college is on a strip offering a lot of franchises. The nearest restaurants tend to get really packed, so use your buses if you can.
JV-Ex, OO, JV & V OI, Dec
Events: LD (Varsity and JV), CX, IEs. LD TOC @ Semis
Comments: Average northeast LD field, poor Speech field in the past (but could get better), small CX field
Travel arrangements: Princeton Holiday Inn is the tournament hotel.
Restaurants: Halo Pub rules in the ice cream sweepstakes.
Events: LD (Varsity), CX (Varsity & novice). LD TOC @ Quarters.
Comments: Good food, very stringent judging requirements (college kids are usually taking finals this weekend).
Judge requirements: LD, 1-3. Policy, 1 - 1/2, 2 - 2, 3 - 4/5.
Events: Congress, LD: V, JV, N

Worcester, Mass. Speech and LD, altho there is no TOC bid here, making Lex the tournament of choice for Ky hopefuls.
Debate, V (TOC @Qs)
Judges who like to run around drunk in their underwear stay at the Battle Green. Others might consider staying at the Holiday Inn Express.

Pretty much like little Lex.
Combination two-day tournament for Varsity, with a TOC at Finals, plus MHL for JV and Novs.
