Lake Bemidji is tough right now, but the other local walleye lakes are doing very well. Jigs and minnows in shallow water is the key to catching fish. Some nicer females are riding out deeper, and are starting to feed readily. Limits of nice eaters are common on many area lakes.
Pannies are going strong on many local lakes. The crappies are getting ready to spawn, and some fish are already inhabiting the bed areas. The bluegills are still feeding heavily getting ready for their upcoming spawn.

Upper Red is on fire. Walleyes are biting readily in the Tamarac River as well as the main lake.

Cass is putting out good numbers of walleyes when the wind is calm enough to fish slow. Jigs and minnows again are working well.
