| 14-8-2002 - Bike mag cliams to have invented dirt running |
| It has come to the attention of the guys here at Northbay, that a certain British Mountain Bike Magazine, who for legal reasons we shall refere to as Mountain Biking United Kingdom (MBUK) Has been running a story, claiming that they are responcible for the invention of the modern phenomenon that is Dirt Running! Or 'Street Running' as they are calling it (attempting to mask the truth if you ask us!) Anyway cutting a long story short, this is total bollocks!!! Everybody whos anybody knows that the art of running at, and getting air from static objects. without the aid of BMX/Skateboard/Inliners was develped by the Northbay crew during those heady days at agricultural college. God only knows what one day inspired Danny C to run at a small muddy hummock and get a phat load of air, but he did! And from that day on Dirt-Running (as its actually called) was born! Many a sunny afternoon we would spend arseing around jumping of this, that and the other. After a while tricks began to develope, like the 'tree-grind', the '360 to ditch', The 'Bracken to fakey' and of course not forgetting the '180 to log look back' ahhhh all classics! So get this MBUK!!! YOU DID NOT INVENT 'DIRT-RUNNING'!!!! We were doing it waaaay back in '98'!!! Keep skimming Neilly B |
