Ryan Haven
Background: Ryan "Homer" Haven was one of the key additions to the A's in the 2004 offseason. His bat and gregarious nature were the heart of the championship run. He was edged out of a much deserved AL Rookie of the Year award after leading the A's with a .533 average, .833 slugging percentage and 31 runs. He played at Solano Junior College and is pursuing a career in law enforcement. He missed most of the 2005 season due to injury, but the A's hope to have him back in 2006.

Highlights: He had three four-hit games in 2004 nearly hitting for the cycle against the Grey Wolves with a double, 2 triples 4 runs and 4 RBI. Went 4-for-5 with a double and a triple against the Dragons. He continued his assault on the senior circuit, going 4-for-4 in a 4-2 win over the Dragons. Went 3-for-4 in a pivotal win over the rival Crushers that put the A's over .500 for the first time at 3-2. Went 4-for-4 with 4 runs in an 11-8 win that helped A's atone for a loss to the Giants. Also scored 4 runs vs. Red Sox. His first inning double gave the A's the early lead against the SilverSox in the championship game.

Role: Haven will hit in the middle of the lineup and produce runs.
