| Background:
Brent was recruited by Keith Lederer, a co-worker with the city of
Benicia Parks Dept. He hasn't played baseball since his freshman year of
high school in Phoenix, Arizona, but he's never been a couch potato. He
was a military medic (and will serve as team doctor) from 1984-87. He
has played softball the last 18 years with several championship seasons.
He also enjoys volleyball and has run triatholons. Highlights: Brent opened his A's career with a three-hit game and has shown great enthusiasm and team play from the moment he joined the team. Role: Brent is expected to play in the outfield for the A's and provide some speed. He also give some flexibility with the ability to play in the infield. If he continues to swing a hot bat he will likely move up the A's lineup. |
