Billy Dodson

Background: Billy is a baseball junkie playing on several baseball and softball teams year round. He is the only remaining original A's player dating back the 2003 season. He also plays for the Fairfield Mudhens. Billy enjoys riding his motorcycle in his spare time. His two boys also serve as team bat boys at many games.

Highlights: Billy led the REBL in hits last season. He also led the A's with 23 runs and struck out just three times in 70 at-bats. He opened the season with a 5-for-5 showing only a double short of the cycle in 16-2 win over Mets. He went 3-for-4 with two doubles in
14-7 win over Classics and 4-for-6 in 12-6 win over the SilverSox. He alos had five hits in blowout over Dirt Dogs. In '04 he went 7-1 as a starter, including a complete game 4-hitter against the Tigers. He also went 3-for-5 with 2 doubles that day. He ent 2-for-4 with a HR vs. Classics. Went 9-for-10 with 3 doubles & 3 triple in two games against the Dragons games.

Role: Billy has been an All-Star shortstop the last two seasons, gaining respect from his peers for his hitting and fielding. Billy should be counted to play the same shortstop and drive in more runs. He should also have the luxury of knowing he should have better defense behind him when pitches after being plagued by errors last season.
