Thorplands
Two estates either side of Talavera Way in the north
east of Northampton. Thorplands is south of Talavera Way and is
mainly made up of three different sections, Billing Brook Road,
Crestwood Road and Watermeadow Drive estates. 1/2 mile north of
Lumbertubs and Lings, Thorplands was constructed in the 70s/80s
for the overspill of London, aswell as which Southfields was
designed. North of Talavera Way and made up of a series of cul de
sacs, Southfields is seen as 'out the way' but not 'out of
trouble'
Both estates suffer from high levels of crime although Thorplands
is much more severe. Taxi robbery attacks, muggings and drug
trade are often associated with Thorplands.
