Eastfield
North of Wellingborough Road and east of Kettering Road
is Eastfield, Headlands and Lakeview. Headlands is a large mainly
terraced estate north of Abington and east of Kingsley,
containing Phippsville and Cottarville. Eastfield is north of
headlands and off the Broadmead Avenue and Grange Road, Eastfield
has one park; Eastfield Park, and across the field is the
Lakeview estate. Eastfield is made up of flats and run down
streets and is extremely deprived. Eastfield Park is often the
scene of abandoned burnt out cars and robberies and in 2006 was
described by one councillor as a 'war torn Beirut'.
