Castle
Castle is made up of Semilong and The Spring Boroughs,
both are west of the Town Centre. Both estates are historically
very old and both contain a mass of council houses and high rise
flats, Spring Boroughs was once the site of Northampton Castle.
Semilong is home to the 'Red Light District' of Northampton,
Grafton Street/Quorn Way/St Andrews Street/St Andrews Road/Arundel
Street are often littered with prostitutes during the evening and
night, pimps/gangs often hiding in alleyways and bushes late at
night. Spring Boroughs is a typical deprived council flat estate
where sex/drugs and gun crime is always apparent, being the most
deprived area in Northamptonshire and one of the top 70 in the
country it is a bleak place to live. The government are
constantly trying to improve the areas but unfortuantly there's
no way it will happen.
