Financial help
Parents expecting more than one child, are put under extra financial pressure from the first moment of the realisation of their multiple birth.
Many parents may plan and make provision for one child, but not two or three!
Once a multiple pregnancy is confirmed then it is too late to take out insurance against such an event. So how do you find those extra few pounds or euro's that can be a small help to your budget?
Sure Start Maternity Grant
�300 grant�..
This is available from the social fund and you do not have to repay it.
To be eligible for this grant you must be in receipt of, Income Support, Income Based Jobseekers allowance, Working families Tax Credit or Disabled Person's Tax Credit.
You can claim this grant from your 29th week of pregnancy until your baby is 3 months old�.
If you want to claim this grant you will need form SF100 from your local Social Security Office or follow the link and download a form from the net.

Working families Tax credit
It is payable to working Families and takes into consideration certain aspects of your financial circumstances.
WFTC is available to couples or single parents who have one or more dependant children under 16 (under 19 if they are still in F/T education.) One or both partners must work a minimum of 16 hours a week, and can be an employee or self employed. You must be resident in the UK and have savings of �8,000 or less.
To apply you can send them an e-mail, visit your local Inland Revenue Enquiry centre or phone the Tax Credit Helpline.
