Under the Fading Trees

Drabble. Arwen Evenstar awaits her death.
Rating: G
* * *
She wandered through ancient woods starlight once filled. It seemed to her that her life fell into two sections: before Estel and after, when she vowed to follow her husband beyond the Sundering Sea.
She lay on Cerith Amroth, where she and Estel pledged their troth. Arwen was still, waiting, one life she had and one death also. She would squander neither; Arwen would drink death like wine.
Leaves landed in her hair and stars turned overhead. Her life faded; sound dimmed until her ears opened to the mingled sound of Estel's joyous laughter and the sigh of the sea.
