What Is Life Seems To Be?

 

Life seems useless.

Eccl 1:2-4 (GNB)

" ... Life is useless, all useless. You spend your life working, ... and what do you have to show for it? ... The World just stays the same."

 

Life seems tiresome.

Eccl 1:5-8a (TLB)

" The sun rises and sets ... The wind blows south and north, here and there, twisting back and forth, getting nowhere. The rivers run into the sea, but the sea is never full, and the water returns again to the rivers and flows again to the sea. Everything is unutterably weary and tiresome."

 

Life seems unfulfilling.

" No matter how much we see, we are never satisfied; no matter how much we hear, we are not content. History merely repeats itself ... "

 

Life seems insignificant.

Eccl 1:11 (GNB)

" No one remembers what has happened in the past, and no one in days to come will remember what happens between now and then."

 

Life seems uncontrollable.

" You can't straighten out what is crooked; you can’t count things that aren't there.

 

 

So, What Is The Purpose Of Life?

"Long ago, even before He made the world, God chose us to be His very own through what Christ would do for us ... His unchanging plan has always been to adopt us into His own family by sending Jesus Christ to die for us. And He did this because He wanted to!"

 

Eph 1:10 (TLB)

" And this [is] His purpose: that when the time is ripe He will gather us all together from wherever we are ... to be with Him in Christ forever."

 

Life is a preparation for eternity!

Eccl 3:11

" He has made everthing beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts ... "

 

 

How Do I Prepare For Eternity?

 

Get to know Jesus Christ.

Jn 1:12 (TLB)

" But as many as recieved Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name."

 

Use my time in view of eternity.

Col 4:5 (ICB)

" Use your time in the best way you can."

Acts 20:24 (TLB)

" But life is worth nothing unless I ise it for doing the work assigned to me by the Lord Jesus --- the work of telling others the Good News about God's mighty kindness and love."

 

Use my talents in view of eternity.

1 Cor 6:20 (TLB)

" Use every part of your body to give glory back to God."

 

Use my treasure in view of eternity.

1 Tim 6:18-19 (RLB)

" Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and should give happily to those in need, always being ready to share with others whatever God has given them. By doing this they will be storing up real treasure for themselves in heaven --- it is the only safe investment for eternity! And they will be living a fruitful Christian life down here as well."
