TV Guide Online: Joining us right now from Walker, Texas Ranger is actress Sheree Wilson, who plays Alex. Thanks for coming to chat.
Wilson: Greetings from beautiful Dallas, Texas. Hello and I would love to chat with you about anything and everything! So start sending in your questions!
Question: Will Alex have more of an active role next season like in earlier seasons?
Wilson: Absolutely! One of the big problems that the fans have complained against is that they have lost a lot of the main family as the focus. Even though the addition of Nia Peeples and Judson Mills (they are wonderful human beings, terrific actors and add a lot of sparkle to the show), the writers got a little bit lost on focusing on trying to get the audience to try to get the audience to welcome them. Even Clarence and myself have seen less time. The grand finale of the show is Walker and Alex's wedding!!! Chuck and I will have quite a few more scenes together next year not only as a married couple and all that means. He is also going to head up a new division with a new group of Texas Rangers and work beside me. So we will be spending more time together at work and at home. Its not for sure about the new division but they are exploring different ideas to keep the show fresh. And after Walker and Alex get married you know that will open doors! : )
Question: Any guest stars tomorrow night?
Wilson: Well, yes there is Rod Taylor who plays my father and we have a wild villain and his villainous, Joan Jett. She's amazing, very scary, and very ruthless. And if you can believe it she has it out for me. Rod Taylor is one of the great actors of our time and was a pleasure to work with. We hope to have him back next year.
Question: We saw a mention of twins in a promo do you think this might happen?
Wilson: Its so funny because Chuck Norris personally has more twins than anyone in his family and couldn't resist it. The producer, his son, his other son all have twins. They've been popping up all over. They are definitely running in the Norris' genetics. If you take from your character then they'll run in Walker's too!
Question: Were your sons in the wedding episode?
Wilson: One of my sons was in the episode, both were invited. I have a 9-year-old and 2-year-old. The 2-year-old came and I got to dance with him after the wedding and Chuck was dancing with his granddaughters. My 9-year-old was going to come after school but was having so much fun at school that he decided to stay there rather than come do the scene - he's a very good boy, not at all like his mommy! I will be dancing with my sweet Nicholas though.
Question: What shows do you enjoy watching?
Wilson: I enjoy such a melting pot. I love movies, no matter what kind. I don't get out to many feature films though. I love A&E, Biography, Nickelodeon - Rugrats! and all the CBS shows, of course! : ) When you have children, they have amazing ways of losing the remote controls so the parents can't control them. We see a lot of Rugrats, Doug, Blue's Clues...I love The Sopranos too!
Question: Were you in the Crimewave by the Coen Brothers?
Wilson: Yes, I was. That was my very first lead in a feature film. Boy did I enjoy that, learn a lot, and love those boys. It was an adventure and wild to work with them all. I had my 26th birthday on the set. I was like making at home movie with friends. We became friends and spent a lot of times with each other. It was hard, tough filming, harsh weather conditions (we started filming on Halloween night in Detroit Michigan. And we finished principal photography on 1/17. The entire movie takes place in the period of one night. We shot on a vampire schedule. We would start at 5pm and finish at 6am. We'd wake up, run and see dailies and run back to work. These are such creative geniuses, they are smart, and they look at the world in a different way. It was the best first film an actor could ask for!
Question: How did it feel doing a wedding scene with chuck?
Wilson: If Chuck or any of my producers are reading this they'll kill me. He was so cute, and in a way real, because we are such good friends (for 8 years) sometimes I spend more time with him than with my own family. He looked scared during the shooting and nervous, more so than at his own wedding. Tracy Lawrence played for us and she is incredible. The cameras weren't rolling on us while he was playing but I burst into tears during his song. The propmaster Big Bob came up to us and said "Guess, what Sheree this ain't real!" There were a lot of funny, tender moments and it was shocking because we're such good friends. As long as he wants to keep kickin', I'll be right by him. He really is a great guy to work with and makes coming to work very nice.
Question: Are there any special causes or charities you support? :)
Wilson: Yes. There are quite a few. The major ones are the MS Foundation. My agent Vicky Light who guided my career up to the point right before I had Luke was diagnosed with MS. I have witnessed her deterioration and it is very unforgiving. My great aunt also died from MS. So it is very close to my family. I do all children's charities no matter what they ask me to do. I will do anything to relieve the suffering of any child because I am so blessed to have 2 healthy ones. I also support The Family Place. It really is a gift to live in a city that looks like a small town. I call Dallas, Mayberry gone ballistic! Its a very small philanthropic community with great wealth and old families. The Family Place is an organization that started with 2 hotlines and this is for women, children, anyone in an abusive situation to get help. It has now grown to 7 different sites in the Dallas area. They are also building a school.
Wilson: There is job placement, reeducation for women who may have relied on their husbands, and they have incredible psychological healing programs for children. Its just a wonderful organization to help people who are in the worst situation I can think of being in. I know they have programs like this across the country. We did one very powerful episode called "The Juggernaut". I run the hope center and support group for women and take them on a weekend retreat. We had such a huge response that many of the women's shelters called us and asked for a tape to show to the women at their centers. You cant do it all so I focus on the things closest to me. Also I ride the Rodeo Circuit - I love the horses and get to compete against all kinds of celebrities in charity tournaments. This way I get to do my charity work and have a great time!
TV Guide Online: Thanks for chatting with us tonight Sheree.
Wilson: Thank you to all my wonderful Walker fans and those that know me from the archives. Thanks for watching stay tuned in and look forward to working on new projects! Good night!
