PLOT
Fool's family is about to be evicted from their ghetto home, and Fool
gets caught up in a plan to rob his landowners' house. But little does he
know that his landowners are a dou of inbred, crazy
siblings who have
their house built so you can get in but you can't get out.

The house is full of passages and and traps and a really nasty dog. So
as Fool realizes that the friends he broke in with are dead he tries to escape
but is locked in. He befriends Alice and Roach and the help him to escape.

He goes back in order to save alice and to save his families home.

SFX
Really the only special effects were some makeup and prostetics. They
were mostly ok but some looked kind of cheap.

Gore
     Gunshot wounds                 A human gutting
     Stab wounds                          Cut off tounge

I Learned
You can kidnap and kill people, shoot weapons off inside your house, be
act creepy, have a deadly security system, and be crazy all in the middle
of suburbia and no one will notice
All that is needed to keep people locked in your basement is a thin fence
            made of small boards

Bottom Line
THE PEOPLE UNDER THE STAIRS is one of Wes Craven's more
original movies. It starts off and the pace really doesn't let up and
the only things that really hampered the movie were that it had a happy
ending that really didn't fit with the rest of the film and that you really
aren't afraid for fool's life becuase they almost never kill off children,
      ecspecially if they're the star.

It provides a great waste of time with almost all of the characters over-acting
with great effect, and in terms of quality it is still yards ahead of some of
Wes Craven's other films; mostly Scream 2 and 3.
