DEEP RISING
                            3.5 Cheeses

    Characters:

Bad dudes: A bunch of sea monster fodder
Good Dudes: 3 people who were chartering a boat for the bad dudes
Cruise ship guests: Sea monster Fodder
       Ship Owner: Stupid      cliched character
Trillian: One character whose name I remember     Theif on the ship
Joey: My favorite character    I think it is the Benny guy from The Mummy.

Plot

The good dudes are taking the bad dudes to an unknown destination.
It is soon found out that the bad dudes are going to blow something up.
Once they get to the destination, a cruise ship no ones on board. It is soon
discovered that giant CGI tenticles have eaten every one.

Well soon enough everyone is running around the ship screaming and
shooting. A bunch of people die and then we meet the giant monster. It is
a giant squid, blob with loads of teeth. In the end the ship is blown up and
we get the usual "heros outrun the fire" scene, with a twist. They're on a
jetski. Then we get a cliffhanger ending. Woo wee just like every other
giant sea monster versus the people movie. But this movie is much better
than most of those so don't worry it's not as if you care about plot any
        how.

SFX

The CGI is believable enough for a movie about giant monster tenticles.
They do look cool. Exept fore some scenes with rampnat blue screen they
are pretty solid. The explosions are cool too.

Blood and gore

Lots of red, digested skeletons                   Bullit hits
A whole giant room of digested humans            Shot up tenticles
        half digested guy

I think the guys who made this movie really liked skeletons

        I Learned

Monsters have tentacles that can change in size
One giant sea monster can eat an entire cruise ship of people
You can get pulled through a toilet
If you are chartering a boat always know your destination

Bottom Line

Deep rising is one very fun movie. If you haven't seen it yet you should.
Even though the whole movie has been done before and is full of cliches,
it is still a very fun movie. The acting is actually almost believeable and the
SFX are top notch. Just go rent it and watch it with a bunch of friends on a
Saturday afternoon. I enjoyed it, so, that means if you don't rent it, a giant
tenticle will pull you through your toilet.
