VIDEODROME
                                                 5 Cheeses

Videodrome is a David Cronenberg film that stars
James Woods. Woods is Max an owner of a TV station
that specializes in mostly violent and sexually explict
programming. He finds this program, Videodrome,
that takes place in a room where people are beaten, killed,
raped, and other such devious activities. He decides it's
exactly what his viewers want to see so he tries to track
         it down.
His girlfriend Niki Brand decides that she wants
to be a contestant on the show. Soon after Max is having
crazy hallucinations that stem from watching the show.
He finds certian things out from the daughter of the shows
creator, and a big conspiracy is revealed.
This is one of those moviest that you sometimes
wonder why you are watching it. Certian scenes like when
Max discovers a large vagina in his chest that holds living
videotapes, are kind of strange. Another scene where Max
places his head inside a television screen as the seductive
lips of his girl friend on the screen call out tto him.
It turns out that videodrome actually changes people
into the New Flesh. A combination of human and
digital energy. In one scene Max has to kill people
with a gun that has been melded to his had, a gun that
he pulls out of the slit in his chest no less. I's violent and
        kind of confusing.
Videodrome is film about the effect of sex and violence
in the media and it's effect on the public. The message is
further portrayed by the fact that the movie is full of both.
The way that Cronenberg shows this message through
insane imagery, and through grotesque sexual violent acts,
makes this film a must see. Highly reccomend.
