| PRAYER OF THE ROLLERBOYS An "Xtreme", angst filled 3 Cheeses Characters: Griffin: Our Loner hero Wears a stupid bandana Corey Haim Milty: His annoying little brother who he's trying to protect SpeedBagger: Their father figure Casey: The female cop whos out to get the Rollerboys Rollerboys: A street gang with wealth, rollerblades, guns and a master plan Gary Lee: Head of the Rollerboys Griffin's former best friend PLOT In the Semi near future America is bankrupt and millions are homeless. But out of the wreckage one gang arises, The Rollerboys, they want you to be part of their "family". But if you resist ya might as well get shot. Take Griffin, our sad loner hero who lives in a tent with Milty. After having a run in with the Rollerboys. Milty joins up to have fun, while Griffin joins to save him. He finds out that Casey is a cop working with him and that the Rollerboy's EVIL master plan, THE DAY OF THE ROPE, revovles around a drug called mist. Gary Lee is going to steralize anyone who uses the mist allowing only Rollerboys to reproduce and take hold of the future. Random gun fights and skating ensue. Sfx The special effets pretty much consisted of a bunch of gunfire and some bullet hits. They were good though. I don't think that this movie actually had enough skating stunts to qualify as an "Xtreme" movie; there were really only about two scene where anyone did anythin more than jump over something. There is one cool scene though where Griffin closelines Gary Lee while they're skating. GORE A couple bullet hits some random blood from gettin punched I learned At some point everyone in America will get stupid, barrow too much money, lose their homes, and end up making America a craptastic place to live It's possible, to jump, with rollerblades, over a truck bed To make an action scene more dramatic, film it entirely in SLOW-MO Best Quote "Americans, working in Mexico illegaly are being returned to California by the thousands." -Seen on a TV Bottom Line I could sum POTRB up as a teen flick with a few gun fights and chases thrown into the mix. I could and I will. I did find it kind of entertaining in a stupid way though. POTRB didn't much have anything original in forms of plot, but it added "Xtreme" skating into the mix allowing for some enertaining scenes. Overall POTRB has many of the qualities of a bad movie; dumb plot, bad acting, violence, and random scenes of nudity that all serve no purpose. This is in no way a great movie mind you; but I found it an interesting enough diversion to qualify as a rental. |
