| John Carpenter's Village of the Damned 3 Cheeses Cast Alan Chaffee: Doctor Hero Kids "Respect" him Dr. Verner: Gov doctor Knows about kid's powers EVIL kids: White haired, mind controlling kids Everyone else: EVIL kid Fodder Janitor and Priest: Two likable characters Plot The movie starts of with an EVIL shadow passing over the small town of Midwich. soon afterwards everyone in town faints for four hours. When woken up 8 women are pregnant and no one knows why. When the babies are born they all look similar and are super smart. They also have the uncanny ability to control other peoples minds. These kids also need anger management classes, any time that someone does the smallest thing to one of them the kids kill them. One good thing is that all of the adults figure this out and we don't have to go through a big "what is killing everyone" mistery. A bunch of people die and the kids are blown up. SFX Not much but the glowing eyes were cool. Also the little CGI eye close up was neet. They should have spent more money on trying to find a good white hair dye for the kids. GORE Melted guy on grill Broom impaling Burnt lady Gunshot wounds Everything else is off screen or implied I Learned EVIL shadows can impregnate people I have the psychic power to predict Heroic sacrifices in movies EVIL little kids have big egos The government isn't very smart about the supernatural I Wondered What was the shadow thing? Exactly how did the women become pregnant? Why was this movie rated R? Who would put a giant propane tank at the end of a road? BOTTOM LINE I thoroughly enjoyed Village of the Damned. I did think they could have done more with the premise and some of the plot. Like the parts they left out about what the shadow was and how were the kids made. Otherwise I thought that VOTDamned was a pretty cool movie. You've just got to love those eyes. |
