THE HOWLING
              A Scary, Hairy 2.5 cheeses

CHARACTERS:
Karen: A news reporter who's the heroine
        Bill: Her husband
        Terry: Her friend
        Chris: Terry's Boyfriend
Members of "The Colony": A bunch of freakin' Werewolves

PLOT:
After being assulted by a killer, Karen's Doctor thinks that she should
go to "The Colony" a backwater retreat to get over it. Once there weird           occurenceswhich might have something to do with the man who attacked         her start to happen. Really this is just an excuse to get Karen and her               firends isolated in the woods with a bunch of werewolves.

Overall the movie is rather boring and slow, but the last 10
minutes where Chris goes up to "The Colony" with a rifle and
silver bullets. Then Karen and Chris reveal that werewolves are real on            the news and everyone thinks that it's just a special effect. This
ending raises the score from a 1 to a 2.5.

SFX:
I personally think that even for the time they could have done better
with most of the special effects. Because
An American Werewolf
      In London
came out the same year (1981) and has the best
transformation scene ever. The couple in
The Howling just seem like
special effects that have lost most of their specialness over time and
the werewolves themselves look mostly like a guy in a suit. Thoguh it
seems that like, most aspects of this movie they get better closer
      to the end.

Blood and Giblets:
Cut off Transforming werewolf hand        Rip out throat
Acid on guy's face                        Gunshot wounds
A guy removing a bullet from his head

What I Learned:

The Howling puts a whole new twist on werewolf mythology.
Werewolfs don't need a moon to transform, have super healing
abilities, can come back to life if killed in any other manner than
being shot with a silver bullet.

Also, All used book stoes have books on demons and the like

Bottom Line:
        I would recomend
The Howling to werewolf fans in particular, but
all of you guys have already seen it. So to other people I'm going to
        have and recommend
The Howling only if you've seen American
        Werewolf In London.
I did dig the new twist on werewolf mythology               because it gave the movie an original twist. By all means The
        Howling
is a very watchable movie, and many consider it a classic.
I can see why, but I don't think that
The Howling has aged very well               since 1981. Check it out because it's still better than most of the other              movies in your videos store's horror section.
