Miss Me But Let Me Go

When I come to the end of the road
And the sun has set for me
I want no tears, in a gloom filled room
Why cry for a soul set free?

Miss me a little but not too long
And not with a head bowed low
Remember the love that once we shared
Miss me but let me go

For this is a journey we all must take
And each must go alone
It's all part of the Master's plan
A step on the road to home

When you're lonely and sad of heart
Go to the friends you know
And bury your sorrow in doing good deeds
Miss me but let me go

No one who went to Beaumont between 1938 and 1973 can forget Mr Hodgkinson. He was one of the teachers who stands out from the others.

Every one who knew him will be very sad to hear that Norman passed away on the 16th November 2001.

Mr Hodgkinson taught at the school for approx 35 years in the French and English departments and retired in 1973.

One of the poplar trees outside the school is his, although he never did know which one! One tree was planted for each member of staff present at the school when the school was first established in 1938
