A second world war drama starring Harvey Keitel , Bill Paxton , Jon Bon Jovi. In this film I found myself working night shoots again after many days banging on the front door of the production office I was offered background work then a small roll as an American Military Police sergeant, which included my first speaking part with Bill Paxton (Alien,Twister)in a dockside scene. As his submarine supplies were being loaded on board before its departure I was to approach him and say my one big line "Can you check this out sir "? in my best middle American accent and salute.
Although I had been on other film sets before,this was my first ever acting experience and it was quite nerve racking I can tell you.The dockside was littered with cables and equiptment and all eyes were now focused on this scene.I only had about twenty minutes notice before the scene was to take place.The crowd casting director gave me a five minute rehearsal and then I was on.
Unfortunately it never made it through the final edit but I am still there just as Mathew Mconaughey arrives to talk to Bill Paxton before there departure.
The scenes on this page were shot on location in the Grand Harbour near Valletta, Malta and at the MFs Studios in their purpose-built deep-water tanks.
