Please Become A Volunteer!
Over the next 12 months, it is our ambition to restore and preserve as many of our Henderson County, NC endangered cemeteries as possible. It is our sincere hope that we will be able to encourage the community to join us in this effort. During this time, will be trying to locate as many Civil War Soldiers graves as possible, those who served both Union and Confederate forces. It is our hope that we can also help families apply for Federal Grave Markers for the soldiers that do not have a Military tombstone on their graves. We encourge family members, next of kin, or any interested party to make application to the VA, to petition for each Soldiers deserved tombstone. If you are already aware of a soldier that does not have a Military Marker, please let us know.
Currently, several of our members are taking time away from their own families to work on this project. The funds to do this is coming from their own pockets, if you would like to contribute to this project, through volunteering or monatarily, we look forward to hearing from you. The Sons of Confederate Veterans is a Non-Profit Organization, and anything you contribute is tax deductible and GREATLY APPRECIATED!
If you would like to help us locate these gravesites, or if you would like to help in the clean up of our old cemeteries here in Henderson Co., NC
