The Gilbert/Justus Family Cemetery Clean Up
The Walter M. Bryson Camp #70 SCV will be sponsoring their 8th cemetery clean up at the Gilbert Justus cemetery on May 14, 2005 at 10:00 rain or shine.
This clean up will have to be split into several days work. The cemetery is in very bad condition, it is overgrown with many trees and underbrush. The date for the second clean up day at Gilbert/Justus has not been determined.
The Camp would like to invite all descendants of the Gilbert and Justus families to join us on clean up day, as well as all volunteers interested in helping. Please bring your gloves, chain saws, rakes, pruners, wheel barrels and any other items needed for the clean up.
There will be lots of logs to haul out of the cemetery, if you would like to take some of this wood home with you, bring your truck!
Directions:
From Hendersonville take either I-26 E or Hwy. 176 south to Upward Rd. Turn Left onto Upward road, just as you pass Upward Elementary School (on the right) you will turn right onto Crest Road, travel a short distance then turn left onto Howard Gap Loop Rd. Howard Gap Loop Road will come to a fork, take the right fork onto Ridgeway Drive. The cemetery is about 2/10 mile on the right, the street address is 70 Ridgeway Drive. You will need to park along side the road. There is no parking area designated for the cemetery. Look for the SCV banner and orange cones for the entrance area.
