| Soontarees case was called early in the day on September the 12th. Her officer was not in the court room again like on the August the 18th.
Soontaree had a interpreter to help with the language difference of English and Thai; since she says she cant understand English playing little Mrs. Innocent. The prosecutor presented the case first and opened up the case with saying she thinks I sent the email and she will prove it. After that Soontaree's husbands lawyer opened his side of the case by saying that there is reasonable doubt that Soontarees husband could have sent the email cause he was working this date of March the 8th and the electric was out in his apartment so it meant no computer to run. The prosecutor asked to have Soontaree to take the stand after all parties were sworn in. Soontaree and her translator took the bench and the prosecutor began with a series of questions. The obvious ones being first; do you know the defendant? State your name? And so on. Every time the prosecutor asked Soontaree a question, she could not understand the English so the interpreter stepped in to translate. The interpreter kept saying other things to Soontaree getting himself in trouble with the prosecutor. The prosecutor had to tell him repeatedly to just ask Soontaree the question and say the answer in English. Finely Soontaree was asked a question that she understood and answered in complete perfect English with no problem. Every one in the court room laughed because she knews English and didnt need a translator. Even the judge knew it and said the city wasted their money on this interpreter. Soon Soontaree was asked questions by the defendants lawyer, and she answered all the questions he asked. She made no sense and was practically losing the case. While Soontaree was on the stand, Her husband showed Soontaree that he had her UNDERWEAR in his front pocket folded up like a handkerchief and smiled at her divinely, Pissing her off. Soontarees lawyer called her husband to the stand and he commenced to asked questions that her husband answered that was indeed crucial to the case proving the electric was out on the 7th to the 15th. It was already proven by the husbands witness that he was working from 8am to 10pm. What What Soontaree's Lawyer said, was that there was no indication if the email was sent in the AM or PM but in the email her husband printed from his webmail in the net of Bellsouth pages, clearly said, AM. Therefore the prosecution stated that it COULD have been sent from a computer at 11:30pm on the 8th. Not likely sense the email the husband has clearly says AM. While the statements we being made from her husband the judge interrupted and asked him if he really thinks that Soontaree sent the email to herself from his email to incriminate him. His relpy to the judge was, YES, I really think so. In the final arguments the Prosecutor stated that her husband had plenty of time to send the e-mail. Then the prosecutor stated that no one had proof that Soontaree had any professional experience, AFTER she testified she was a computer professional for ten years. The prosecution rattled of my criminal record and ended the argument. The judge found Soontarees husband guilty and sentenced him to 24hrs in jail , $100 fine, $100 court cost, and $195 for the public defender. Before the officers could take Soontarees husband to the jails, his lawyer made a movement for an appeal making the judgment void and resent to the superior courts later freeing her husband from a close jail sentencing. As her husband left, he smiled at Soontaree once again knowing she failed. |
