| I GOT THE PART! The director, Nancy Meyers, called this morning with the good news. As soon as I hung up, I started screaming and jumping on the bed. My dad started crying. Two seconds later, I called my mom. Everyone was so happy they ended up in tears -- my brothers and sisters, too. Very cool! Flew to London with my family and some of the crew. Looking forward to shopping with my mom and seeing Buckingham Palace. Met Natasha Richardson, who plays my mom. She's very sweet, and made me feel really comfortable. We filmed some shots around London and walked across Abbey Road, just like the Beatles did on their album cover. She also gave me some tips on my British accent. Did a photo shoot scene with Vendela, the famous model. We got to dance and laugh together like old friends. Not only was she very pretty -- she's nice, too! Feeling a lot more comfortable with the British accent. I use it sometimes at night with my family. They look at me a little funny, but I'm having a ball. Did my first scene with Dennis Quaid, my movie dad. I was kind of nervous. Fortunately, he has a great sense of humor, which relaxes everyone around. Napa Valley is gorgeous!! Been shooting the Camp Walden sequence for almost a week. Lots of fun. And lots of hard work -- especially if you're playing a double part. I like playing Hallie a little more than Annie. I guess she's just more like me -- and she wears cooler clothes. Last week I learned boxing -- and today I learned to fence! I love it. It's kind of like getting paid to join a health club. Now my brother wants me to show him some boxing tips. Fat chance! We shot the ear-piercing scene today. It was weird being Hallie, in control and doing the piercing, and then Annie, all scared and whiny, getting her ears pierced. I liked the screaming part a lot! Last day of shooting. I really hate to see it end. It's been great fun, and I'll miss all these people a lot. I can hardly wait to see the final film. Hope they like it. |
