"[g] Follow Me [c] wherever I [g] go," I heard while [Em] walking one dark night in the [g] rain. I said, "Lead on my [d] friend, Even [c] though I've never [g] known you, 'Cause I [Em] can't see where I'm going, And I [Am] don't like where I've [d] been." I followed Him through that long night, We spoke of love and life and joy In a land of milk and honey Where all sorrow flees away And peace flows like a river Oh, yes, and God's light always shines. The pale dawn light found us high upon a mountain. Where my tears poured out like the last nights' rain. He said, My friend, now I must go For in my Spirit you must grow." Then as that gentle man faded He said, "I won't be far away. You will live in me and I will live within you Where I rule my kingdom in souls of men. But you must lose your life to find mine Let we two become just one." Then His words broke into thunder And tongues of fire filled the air. He said, "Follow me wherever I go. We must become the image of our father's son. When we can see that Spirit has come, We two shall be as one. Formed in truth and spirit, one with all that has been done Follow Me. . . . |
