This can be clearly seen in: Zechariah (4 2):
And he said to me, What do you see? And I said, behold,a candlestick all of gold, with a bowl upon the top of it, and his seven lamps thereon, and seven pipes to the seven lamps,
3 ..9 The hands of Zerubable have laid the foundation of this house; his hands shall also finish it; and you shall know that the Lord of hosts has sent me to you.

It is clear that the speaker here is the Lord, who says that the golden candlestick is the church of God, and that the seven lamps are the seven churches mentioned in the revelation, that is:
Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea.

These churches geographically are located in Asia minor, that is the present days Turkey, and the messages that are symbolically sent to them are in fact sent to the seven chronological stages of the church of God, beginning with the death of Christ and till his second coming. Jesus sends a message to every one of these churches praising its good deeds, pointing out its faults and encouraging it to be better. He says: These seven churches shall proclaim the word of God, "The Bible" not by might, nor by power, but by the spirit of the Lord, (Zec 4 6 / 7). And he goes on to say, "Christ has laid the foundation of this house", that is the church (i.e. the Laws & the new Covenant) , and that his hands shall make it complete. Which means that no profit will come after Christ, this means that, " Jesus Christ covenant is the last covenant" which ends all prophecies.

Let us now see where was the candlestick mentioned for the first time:

Exodus ( 25 1 ):
And the Lord said to Moses,
2 speak to Children of Israel that they bring me an offering: of every man who gives it willingly . .
8 and let them make me a sanctuary, that I may dwell among them.

( 10 )

9 According to all that I show you, concerning the pattern of the tabernacle, and of all its furniture, so you shall make it.
10 "and they shall make an ark of acacia wood;.
23 And you shall make a table of acacia wood;
24 And you shall cover it with a layer of pure gold, and make a crown of gold around it.
31 And you shall make a candlestick of pure gold. The base and the shaft of it shall be of hammered gold,.. .
32 and there shall be six branches going out of its sides, three branches of the candlestick out of the one side , and three branches of the candlestick out of the other side. .
37 And you shall make seven lamps for it; and the lamps shall be set up so as to give light upon the space in front of it. .
40 And look that you make them according to their pattern, which was showed to you on the mountain.

And in:Exodus (37 1):
And Bezaleel made the ark of acacia wood.
And he made the candlestick of pure gold..
23 And he made its seven lamps of pure gold.

As in above we see that God commanded Moses to make a sanctuary, that he may dwell among his nation Israel. He showed him the pattern of the tabernacle, and of all its furniture. Moses in his turn made every thing as he was told. He placed the ark and the golden incense altar in the most holy place, but the table was placed outside the veil on the north side and the candlestick on the south side of the tabernacle in the holy place.

Let us now see what happened during the days of the prophet Jeremiah as in:

2 Maccabees (2 4):
In the writing it was mentioned that the prophet, having received an oracle, ordered that the tent and the ark should follow with him, and that he went out to the mountain where Moses had gone up and had seen the inheritance of God.

( 11 )

5 And Jeremiah came and found a cave, and he brought there the tent and the ark and the altar of incense, and he sealed up the entrance.
6 Some of those who followed him came up to mark the way, but could not find it.
7 when Jeremiah learned of it, he rebuked them and declared:
" The place shall be unknown until God gathers his people together again and shows his mercy."
8 Then the Lord will disclose these things, and the glory of the Lord and the cloud will appear, as they were shown in the case of Moses, and as Solomon asked that the place should be specially consecrated."

We see that God did not ask Jeremiah to take the candlestick and the table and put them in the cave together with the tent, the ark and the altar of incense. The reason for this is obvious, the tent, the ark and the altar of incense, as Jeremiah had said will be disclosed by God when he gathers his people together again and shows his mercy. That is when the Jews believe in the Christ, whom they have denied. As saint Paul says: " For if their rejection means the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance mean but life from the dead?" (Romans 11-15).

But where are the candlestick and the table??? History tells us that, Titus blockaded Jerusalem in 70 AD. And he destroyed the temple, which Herod had rebuilt. And he took the candlestick together with the table, which were shown in the parade that took place in Rome to celebrate his victory. Their picture is still to be seen carved on the stones of the victory gate of ancient Rome; the carving recorded historically the spoils, which were taken from the temple of Jerusalem.

This meant that the candlestick and the table are still with humanity and for as long as there are people on earth, which means that the seven churches will stay with humanity to light the way for the people till the end. Then the candlestick and the table

( 12 )

will be revealed, and transported to join the tabernacle, which God will reveal in the time of the end.

The Revelation ( 2 1 ) :
To the angel of the church of Ephesus write; This what the one who holds the seven stars in his right and walks midst the seven golden candlesticks says;
2 I know your works, and your labor, and your patience, and how you can not bear evil men, and you have tried those who say that they are apostles, and are not, and you found them to be lairs.
3 And you had endured and had labored patiently for the sake of my name, and have not grown weary.
4 But I have this against you, that you have abandoned the love at first.
5 Remember then from where you have fallen, repent and do the works that you did at first, if not I will come to you and remove your candlestick out of its place, unless you repent.
6 Yet this you have, you hate the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.
7 He, who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To whom who conquers I will grant to eat of the fruit of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

************************

This means that Christ will allow the winner to eat the fruit of the tree of life, and live forever, as seen in:

Genesis ( 2 9 ) :
And out of the ground the Lord God made to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight and good for food, the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

And in: Genesis ( 3 22 ):
Then the Lord God said, "Behold, the man has become like one of us, knowing good and evil; and now, lest he put forth his hand and take also of the tree of life, and live for ever."

( 13 )

The First Church Ephesus:
Its name means the wanted and desired one it has toiled patiently, tested those who call themselves apostles, and segregated between the real and the false ones.Jesus reminds this church that she had abandoned the first love that she had, when the believers were filled with the Holy Spirit. Then all the believers were but one body, with one heart and one soul. No one claimed possession of the thing which they owned, for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of what was sold and laid it at the apostles feet, and distribution was made to each as any had needed. And when this churchs love receded in her last days, Christ reminded and asked her to repent and go back to her first love and deeds, pointing out her place in the salvation path and the proclamation of the word of God, " The Bible." He says to her that those who win will be granted to eat the fruit of the tree of life, which is midst the paradise of God.
The tree of life was in paradise in the very beginning, and it was Adams desire to eat of it after his failure, but he could not do that because he was thrown out of paradise. Also this desired church position is that of the very beginning, and it was made desirable by the reception of the Holy Spirit, and the many miracles performed by her apostles.
This church existed in the first century after Christ death, and in the time of the apostles, that is, in the beginning of the proclamation and the spreading of the word of God.

The Revelation ( 2 8 ) :
And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write: " the words of the first and the last," who was dead and came to life again.
9 I know your works, and tribulation, and your poverty, (but you are rich) and I know the slander of those who say that they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.
10 Fear none of those things, which you shall suffer: behold, the

( 14 )

devil shall cast some of you into prison, that you may be tested and for ten days you will have tribulation. Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life.
11 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the Churches. He who conquers (wins) shall not be hurt by the second death.

*************************

The Second Church Smyrna:
The name means, " The beautiful and pleasant scent which is produced by the burning of myrrh. It symbolizes and points out to the scent of Abels burnt offering, of the firstlings of his flock, and whose pleasing odor gained God acceptance.

The sequential order of this church points to the period that came after the period of the tree of life, that is, the period of the burnt sacrifices which symbolically pointed to Jesus Christ. This church has gone through tribulation, poverty, Jewish slander, and the persecution of the emperors of Rome, especially that of the emperor Diocletian, whose tribulation and persecution of (303 313) AD. Was but the worst, and hence mentioned in the prophecy as the tribulation of the ten days (ten years).

And as Cain countenance fell and became angry enough and killed his brother, because God had accepted his offering. Here also, the Lord tells this church that he will give her the crown of martyrdom, as many of her believers are killed by the pagans and by those whose countenance fell and became very angry with the faith of the church like the Jews and others. And that is why the Lord calls them the synagogue of the devil as they did what Cain had done.

The place of this church was highly valued as it was glorified by the many martyrs who were glorified like their Lord and master, who died and came to life again in glory.

The Revelation ( 2 12 ):
And to the angel of the church in Pergamum write; The words of him who has the sharp two-edged sword.

( 15 )

13 I know your works, and that you dwell where Satans throne is; hold my name fast and do not deny my faith, even in those days wherein Antipas was my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwells.
14 But I have a few things against you, because you have among you those who hold the doctrine of Balaam who taught Balak to cast a stumbling block before the children of Israel, that they might eat food sacrificed to idols and practice immortality.
15 So you also have some who hold the teaching of the Nicolaitans.
16 Repent; or else I will come to you quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.
17 He, who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who wins, I will give some of the hidden manna to eat, and I will give him a white stone, on it, is a new name written, which no one knows except him who receives it.

*********************************

The Third Church Pergamum:
The name of Pergamum means, " The High And The Elevated One." This fits, and is true for the period after 313 AD. , when the emperor Constantine sat on the Roman throne and granted religious toleration to the Christians, and he himself became a Christian. The state of the church changed from a persecuted church whose followers could be killed or burned alive at any time, to that of a church protected by the Roman government. This position of the state, elevated the position of the church, and resulted in a fast spread of Christianity.
So in spite the fact that the church dwelled where Satans Throne was, that is, in Rome, she had fought to proclaim the word of God the word that is as sharp as a two-edged sword.
The position of this elevated church is similar to that of Moses and his people, when they wondered in the Sinai Desert, and God gave them the manna to eat. And as Moses and his people were

( 16 )

saved from the Pharaoh and his rule, this church also was saved from the Roman emperors and their terrible persecution. And it was given the Spiritual food, which her Lord promised her.

The Revelation (2 18):
And to the angel of the church in Thyatira write: The words of the Son of God, who has eyes like a flame of fire, and whose feet are like fine copper.
19 I know your works, love, faith, service and patient endurance, and that your latter works exceed the first.
20 But I have this against you, that you tolerate the woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess to teach and to seduce my servants to commit immorality and to eat food sacrificed to idols.
21 I gave her time to repent, but she refused to repent.
22 Behold, I will throw her on a sick bed, and those who commit adultery with her I will throw into great tribulation, unless they repent of their deeds.
23 And I will strike her children dead. And all the churches shall know that I am he who searches kidneys and hearts, and I will give to every one of you according to your works.
24 But to you and the rest in Thyatira, those who do not have this doctrine, and who have not known the depth of Satan, as they say, I will not put upon you other burden.
25 Only hold fast to what you have, until I come.
26 He who wins and keeps my works until the end, I will give power over the nations.
27 And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; and as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken in pieces, even as I myself have received power from my father.
28 And I will give him the morning star.
29 He, who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

( 17 )

The Fourth Church Thyatira:
The name Thyatira means, "The service of delight." Or, " The sacrifice of humility." This church is known for her theatrical and delightfully performed services, she had faith, love and patient endurance, and she worked hard, but this church has been different, she had controlled the civil life and ruled the people, the western states and their kings with a rod of iron. This stage was finally over when the Pope was exiled by Napoleon, because this church refused to repent as the Lord asked her to do. Then the church fell into difficulties and went through tribulation. She did the same immoralities that Ahabs wife, "Jezebel" had done.

Also this church did not repent but sold " Pardon receipts, " interfered in countless matters. Her actions disheartened, repelled and drove away a lot of the believers whose faith in the church declined and finally broke away and were scattered in different groups and directions.
Then the Son of God, the judge, whose eyes are like a flame of fire and his feet like fine copper, said, "It is enough," I will strike her children dead, so that all the churches shall know that, I am he who searches the kidneys and hearts.
The position of this church in the salvation path, in spite of all her faults, defects and failures, is similar to that of the reign of kings David and Solomon and till the time of exile to Babylon. King David rule was in spite of all his faults, defects and failures but a replica pointing to the reign of the Son of God. And Jesus himself has never been ashamed to call himself a descendant of King David.
So think and ask King David, "who committed adultery with Bath Sheba, the daughter of Eliam and the wife of Uriah the Hittite?? Who made her pregnant while she was still married to Uriah ??? And who planned and plotted Uriahs death, so that he could take his wife?? Wasnt it Bath Sheba who gave birth to king Solomon, the son of David??
And we would like to ask: "To whom did God say through the prophet Gad, in (2 Sam 24 12/13)," Three things I offer you; choose one of them, that I may do it to you, shall three years of famine come to your land? Or will you flee three months before your foes while they pursue you? Or shall there be three days pestilence in your land? "

( 18 )

Also ask King Solomon, who built the famous temple of the Lord, (which the Jews are still weeping and wailing for till this very day).Solomon, who was given the wisdom, and to whom the God of Israel had appeared twice, as in (1kings 11 9). Ask him:
Who did evil things, and turned away from the Lord, and followed, " Ashtoreth and Milcom" the abomination of the ammorites?? Who built high places for Chemosh, the abomination of Moab? And, for Molech, the abomination of Ammonites, in the mountain east of Jerusalem?

*****************************

The Revelation Chapter three:
And to the angel of the church in Sardis write: The words of him, who has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars, " I know your works, you have the name of being alive, but you are dead.
2 Awake, and strengthen what remains and is just about to die, for I have not found your works perfect before God.
3 Remember therefore what you have received and heard, hold fast to it and repent. If you will not awake, I will come like a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you.
4 you have still a few names in Sardis, who have not soiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white, for they are worthy.
5 He who wins, will be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and his angels.
6 He, who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
