| October 1 Its on for real now. The contracts for the gym and the refs are all in place. And we have 8 teams. The response for people wanting to get teams in the league was impressive. We could have had a 12 team league this year but we wanted to do everything right this year instead of getting ahead of ourselves. But its all good. There are 8 strong teams that will make a run for the 2002 NAABL title. The teams are: Team VA, Maymar, Wolfpack, Mavericks, Raptors, Dope Squad, Sharks, and Lightning. If these teams are going to change their names let me know. But those are them. The rules and format of the league are entirely the same as last year, except two players from each team can be over 6 feet tall. Everyone else WILL BE 6 FEET TALL OR UNDER. This rule is no joke and you will be measured if you look close to the limit. No protest from the other team is needed. Any questionable player will be measured before they enter a game. So please don't try to be shady. And all players will be of ASIAN descent except for TWO NON-ASIANS per team. This rule is difficult to enforce but we trust that players won't disrespect their own HERITAGE, CULTURE, and FAMILY ROOTS by saying they're Asian when they aren't. This league is supposed to be fun and enlightening. When people start doing shady shit is when everything gets crazy and respect for the league and its players disappears. So show some integrity and pride and keep our league fresh and clean. With all that said, the dues for each team are $450. All the team captains or organizers should call me ASAP to set up payment arrangements. The deadline for dues is October 24. The contract for the gym and the refs MUST be paid before the season starts.
