he shares the same raven black hair that Arical has, and his eyes are a lighter green, but still striking.
He is very slow to trust, and highly suspicious of people he hasnt known for a long time, so he doesnt have many good friends, although he attracts people at first impression. Usually his aloofness and vague attitude distances people, so people think he's stuck up.
Because he is so clever, he almost expects other people to be as clever, or, at the very least, not as stupid as most of them appear to be. He can't understand why they are so dumb, and he holds it against them.
He is also slightly artistic, not in pictures, but in words. He enjoys reading, and usually chides at Arical for not reading enough.
His bond with Arical is just as strong as Arical's to him, maybe even a little more, dangerously so. He is very dependent on Arical, and while Arical is quite dependent on Devika as well, it is far more likely that Devika would suffer the mental breakdowns before Arical.
Devika also gets jealous quite easily, a fact he mostly manages to hide from his brother. It usually only comes into play with Kael and any girlfriends (or boyfriends) that Arical might take on. Not for sexual interest on Devika's part, but because he doesnt believe that those people are good enough for his brother.
He doesnt really like Nicolai either, but even he can see that that relationship is far beyond what he can do to stop it. He will always back Arical, no matter what Arical did, so he is extremely loyal.

Devika was a citizen of Caer Maellyn, but a peasant, a commoner. He was killed by Arical in Arical's first close sacrifice, and was the last child that Arical killed on that particular mission.
Arical mistakingly made eye contact as Devika died, and it drove the elementalist not just a little mad for a while, even though he didnt know Devika at all then.
Devika was 300 years old when he got killed, the youngest of all the main characters, so he got transferred to his mortal very young.
Because his immortal state had no wish to remember how he had died, Devika last all memory of his previous life, and grew up as a normal mortal child, even at the young age of two (when he was transferred) showing an extraordinary bond with his regularly mortal twin.
He is beginning to guess what he was and who he had been, but prefers to stifle all knowledge, having no wish to change anything more than it already has been. His first clue was given to him by sharing a dream that Arical had, but he didnt realize it at the time.
He is the last to find out exactly who he is (or was) and even though he had lots of hints and clues before he actually found out, he doesnt handle it well.

He doesnt like the idea that he is falling in love with Alexes, because he doesnt like being dependent on anyone but Arical. He values his privacy, and Alexes sometimes, (with the best intentions in the world) oversteps the boundaries. He usually backs up pretty quickly though, and that, more than anything, gains him favour in Devika's eyes.
He also doesnt particularly like the immortals and elementalists, but accepts the fact that he can't do anything about them. He gets along very well with Kindle towards the end, an unexpected turn of events that surprises everyone, especially the two involved.
He will always be the most quiet one of the lot, but with his budding romance that he's scared of, and Arical's urgings, he opens up after a while.
When he does, he surprises all of them but Arical, who, perhaps, knew all along who and what his twin is.
