| !Background Information! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Mortal or Immortal? | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Each immortal gets a mortal life when they are 200 years old. The mortal life is given usually with some relationship to something the immortal remembers with guilt/regret/pain. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Every 100 years for an immortal passes as 1 year for his mortal, so if an immortal dies at five hundred, his/her mortal is three years old. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Arical was 1700 when he got his brand and was banished (died), and he was transferred into his mortal (15) where his brand appeared anew and continues to hurt. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The mortal's memories will remain, both of it's life and the immortal's, unless the immortal died in a way that the mortal does not want to remember, in which case, the mortal will forget he/she was ever an immortal. For example, Arical's memories remain both that of his mortal's before Arical got transferred, and of his immortal life, because the brand warped his memory, and he is not allowed to forget. Anything that the mortal knew before he got transferred, Arical knows, and he uses it to his best advantage. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Main Countries in No Regrets | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Arical's home country is called Caer Maellyn and is ruled by King Careonvan, although only priviliged people have the right to call him that. 'My King' or 'My Lord' will suffice for peasants and soldiers and unhonored nobility. He is very ruthless, and more than a little crazy, although he knows how to run a country, and he does it well. He is not beloved by his people, but they are to scared to rebel, and that's good enough for him. The second main country is the one that Caer Maellyn is always at war against, Raegwyn. Raegwyn is ruled by a mostly peaceful leader, who neverthless loses all common snese when at war, merely because of a deep set blood feud between him and Careonvan. He is a very good strategist, and is good at deciding what and who will be fighting when and where. |

| The official soldiers of Caer Maellyn, including the elementalists) wear the official colours red, white and gold. Raegwyn soldiers and magic users wear blue, black and silver in their uniforms. |

| Elementalists | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The first elementalist was a noble enamoured with the queen, far back into the Ancient Days. He showed her what he could do, and she rewarded him well for it. Unfortunately, he was sent to war to use his talents and was killed, but Caer Maellyn knew about the magic and ability to control the elements, and started looking for more. Eventually they had enough to build a small army, and the Royal Family paid the elementalists well for their work, with riches and woman, and anything the elementalist could possibly want. The Royals definitely make it worth their while. The original elementalists controlled fire, water, wind and earth. After a few generations, there were variations of these, like ice, and the ability to shape metal and call it from the earth. The primitive elementalists though, the originals, are called the specialists, and they are arguably the strongest. A good water elementalist can send a whole city under water within a matter of hours, and a country in a few days, and keep it all within specified borders to boot. The rarest to find though, are fire soldiers, probably because all the good ones combust themselves in a fit of blind rage that controls the fire before they can attempt to stop it. Many fire elementalists have died this way, and since fire is a useful destructive force, fire specialists are probably the most highly prized. |

| Laws of Caer Maellyn | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| King Careonvan is brutal in his punishments of disobeyed laws, so everyone obeys them. The main law covers the most ground, because it depends on what each member of the Royal Family thinks that counts. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 1. Respect the Royal Family at all times. Words or actions of treason will result in execution or exile. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| ~ It is within this law that most mistakes are made, such as turning your back on the King. You are not allowed to touch the Royal Consort without direct permission from the King, you may not seduce a mortal in Court if he belongs to the King, you must not insult the Royal Family. Stuff like that. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 2. Your King's word comes first. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| ~ Another variation of the first rule: basically, the King can tell you to murder your own family and have fun doing it, and you'll have to at least pretend to have fun. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
