Arical has a host of problems. He recently found out that he isnt a human being as such, but is really a kind of reincarnation of a fire elementalistof the country Caer Maellyn, a place on another world where immortals reign supreme and mortals are put to death if found without a reason for being there.
He was banished as an immortal, branded for his crime, and sent to earth in exile, where he will die when that lifespan reaches it's limit, and then he will be born again, and the cycle will continue. He will not be allowed to forget his previous lives, and will probably be driven mad because of it.
If that weren't enough, his former princess and the rest of the element specialists seem to be following him! Cerise wants something, and is spoilt enough not to rest until she has it, and the others are just persistant enough to bother Arical occasionally.
On top of that, he suffers all the problems of an orphaned teenager with reluctant guardians, who, unfortunately, he seems to be falling in love with. The problems never end...
Arical isnt, however, the type to get all hurt and upset because of his rejected attentions. He prefers to get angry and sulk, maybe even taunt the poor young man with the fact that he got refused. He prefers looking like a brat rather than letting his real feelings show to anyone but his twin.
Arical and Devika share a close bond, that is apparently much more special than either of them let on. They can feel each other's emotions if they are being felt enough or acknowledged by the other, and can usually end each others sentences and spoken thoughts. This tends to freak people out when they're in public, so they dont do it that often.
Even more than that though, they are very close. They arent scared to be honest with one another, and people usually acuse them of incest if they dont know the twins that well. It isnt incest, it's just a deep love that spans the distance between the two, and the way they show it to each other is almost the only way they know how.
Arical is hot tempered most of the time, and he is also extremely protective over his twin. He is the friendlier of the two, and only suffers shyness when he is unsure of reactions of people whom he likes. Aside from that, nothing is too open and embarrassing to do. He is nice until you are mean to him or his brother, and then he treats you with a cool politeness and a tangible hot dislike, in which case most people get the message and usually ease up or leave them alone completely.
He is quite athletic on some days, and sometimes lazy on others. If he is in an athletic mood, he would prefer a friend to do something with so they can talk while they do whatever activity they feel like. If the person is Kael, it's usually basketball or swimming.
He is by far the more outgoing of the twins, and he tries to get his brother to lighten up a little more, usually to no avail, because Devika usually refuses stubbornly.
Arical also has a stubborn streak, quite a big one, and he pulls on this when he is refusing to do something. He is also quite unforgiving if the person has hurt either him of his twin, until they get an apology that is sincerely meant. After that, he usually cools down a little, and the offender is gradually forgiven, so long as he or she doesnt do anything to upset either of the twins again.
He is fifteen already in this life, and the brand marking is still fresh on his back, and it still hurts a lot. He is plagued by nightmares of his past life, but as long as Devika or Nicolai are there to comfort him, he usually forgets them in a few hours.
