Runestones is stones, often bigger than 1meter in diameter with runecravings. They was often used
as tombstones for someone who have died in war or in other countries.
The runstones was made to pay tribute for a comrade who have been killed in war.
The stones was often raised where they could be seen.
The Vikingkings who had died in war got a big stone. The runes was craved by a runworker or
som near relative.
Some of the most known runecravers was: Åsmund Kåresson, Vörlund Smed och Balle.
Besides runes there was often coils with dragons, snakes and other animals.
The stones was craved from 400-Century and forward. There is not just in Sweden (scandinavian) you
can find runes, you can also find runes around europe where the Vikings traveld for war.
