This bear looks big enough to come right through that fence.The Muskox leisurely munches on the thick grass.
There is a Muskox farm up near Palmer, that rasies them for commercial use. But the guest did not have the opportunity to visit that area.
Then it's on to see Portage Glacier, which is not far away.
Bill stopped at one of our favorite spots to see if the salmon had arrived in the viewing area to spawn. While Bill was checking out the viewing area. Some of the guest went for a hike up the near mountain to get a better look at one of the older glaciers. Middle glacier has not been very accessible until recently.

To the left the group stands near a rushing waterfall.
They left Portage and went on up to have lunch on top of the mountain at the Alyeska Ski Resort.
They also made another stop just outside of Anchorage, where we have a long viewing ramp out into the marshes. There are always many ducks and other birds that spend the summer in these marshes. They were also able to view some fish and at least a few salmon in the small stream there.
Our nice weather was holding and we were able to eat out on the deck, but you may notice our mosquito repellant lanterns.
Below after eating we sat around the table for a chat. On one side is Debbie, Amanda with Sugarbaby. The other side is Richard, Bill and Vicki. It was a very pleasant evening to be outside.
